Poll question: Would you support a Dean/Clart ticket?
Would that ticket be the best we could do?

Would it invigorate you?

2. I don't know that it's the best we could do...
...but I'd certainly be happy to support it.

4. Yes, but it's NOT an option!
Clark will NOT be anyone's running mate. He has no desire to run for the VP. He has stated that being Dean's running mate isn't in the cards. Dean and his supporters should not bank on Clark to be a part of Dean's ticket if he wins the Nom.

5. And any candidate would say the same....
...no candidate would EVER say they'd settle for VP when they're still running for Pres. Only a fool would do that...it'd be proclaiming that he's willing to settle.

Whatwould you expect ANY candidate to say if asked about the VP slot?

It may not be in his plans now...but it sure as heck will be if Dean gets the nomination.

6. Al Gore (Dean's bestest bud) had no desire in '91 OR '92...
...to be a VP pick. Look where it got him. Silly ol' Al and your non-desiring!

Later.

8. We shall see...
but I think Dean and his supporters are dreamin' if they are expecting Clark to run as VP.

If you know anything about Clark you know that being VP is not something he would consider. Sec Def or Sec State, sure. VP, "not in the cards".

13. Good!
Johnny come lately Clark , IMO needs to spend a little time in the trenches before he is ready for the ticket as either Pres or VP.

9. Dean does not do it for me.
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 02:16 AM by Mountainman
When I came home from Vietnam in 1968 I worked for Gene McCarthy because I liked what he stood for. I did not think about whether or not he could win, that was not on my mind. I just liked his ideals. I feel that it is the same with many Dean supporters. He says the right things but I just can't see enough Americans willing to replace Bush with Dean.

I really hope he does not get the nomination. I will feel real disappointed if he does. He is not a winner that's all there is to it. I feel Clark can beat Bush and if Dean is the nominee it will break my heart because I look forward to the fascists running the world for the foreseeable future. The end of the middle class and all that that means rests on this election. The country cannot be jerked to the left it needs to be taken there gradually and the people must lead the way. They are not ready to do that yet.

When I see the media and independents saying "Dean is a winner" I will think other wise. It just ain't going to happen. The more I think about Dean as the nominee the more I want to just walk away from politics altogether. We won't stand a chance agaist the Rove machine with Dean. He is another Al Gore. He won't stand up to the media destruction he will get.

10. Dean is furtherest to the right
except for Lieberman and possibly Clark. He has left a lot of room to move to the middle after the primaries.

Regardless of who gets the nomination, we are going to have to make it work. War, economy, cowardice, laziness and incompetence

12. Yes, but with reservations.
I would rather see a Dean/Edwards or Dean/Braun or Dean/Kucinich
