This is my second far right thread
So let me begin by stating that I am a liberal democrat. IF the radical right decided to run a national campaign, they would have the right to do so. Imagine the platform: Tax cuts for the rich. End Welfare and the UN. Legalize discrimination and promote segregation. Outlaw divorce, pre marital sex, and abortion.
The radical right would have the legal right to run on these campaign issues. The GOP would be advised to avoid working with them (since their positions are “radical and unelectable”).
The GOP would not state, “A vote for the radical right is a vote for the Democrats.” If the GOP lost to the democrats, they would not say, “We lost because the radical right did not support us.”
The Democratic party states that the Green party is unelectable, and that their positions are not winners. The Greens support fair trade, oppose the death penalty and the drug war, and oppose military action in Iraq.
If we all agree that these extreme positions are unelectable, then why do we fight so hard to keep off the ballot?
The GOP doesn’t fear its radical wing, the Democrats shouldn’t fear the lefties!
