Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 03:30 PM by Gringo
I will add them as they come in... Starting with "other" first.

A lower voting age to encourage a new generation to take part in the Democratic process

A ban on age discrimination for ALL ages, not just for those over 40.

7. Public financing of campaigns/free TV time (ie, REAL CFR)
After that, I'd add, a real committiment to progressive income tax across the entire range of income in the US, and especially for corporations.

8. My brilliant proposal
We move from having the three "official" ice cream flavors in America being Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry to Chocolate, Vanilla, and Mint and Gristle.

Actually I think we ought to do something about increasing corporate domination of the media--the consolidation of power into the hands of a very few men.

Unless those men are going to be me, it should be spread around a little more (and frankly I'm not sure if even I can be trusted with that kind of power).

10. Democratic/Electoral reform
I'd like to see the Democratic party take the position that the electoral system is broken and needs desperate fixing, that the goals of comprehensive electoral reform should be increasing democratic participation, making voting easier to register for and to do, seeking an end to winner takes all and a way toward proportional representation, making it easier for the best qualified candidates to run for office and serve, and making incumbency less secure.

13. Even though I personally dislike guns and don't own any...
I'd like to see a more neutral approach to the gun issue. Not sure what is in the platform at this point. But it should recognize that guns and the role of guns does differ throughout the country and throughout different regions.
