Easy Boycott Action = Turn Bush Off!
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 01:33 PM by patrice
Just a gripe-session here, pardon me while I get this off my mind . . . . .

EVERY time I see Bush's face on the TV, I turn it off, or change the channel, whether the sound is on or not. He obviously has nothing to say in which I am interested, and I obviously don't have enough money to be of interest to him while he tries to buy his way back into the presidency and

*buys a lot of votes in the process from Americans who can be bought off/distracted*

People are going to try to ignore everything that is wrong with what is happening to America . . . Forget stuff . . .

how many Iraqis we've killed, and Americans who have died for what ???, and how we are now putting Iraqis in prison so "we" can do what we want with our illegally gotten Iraqi assets, and also not to mention the Americans who are being hounded and put in jail if possible by Rove's puppets, and other ditto heads. AND this administration is not proactive enough with the UN and anybody in Europe except Tony *'ing Blair!

I am also outraged by this drug-company, insurance pork barrel called Medicare reform, why, why, why, don't we have means testing for Medicare, so it can be targeted at the folks who need it.
*WHY?* I'm tired of give-ways to folks who don't NEED it.

AND believe it or not . . . They want to do a Constitutional ammendedment next year to protect marriage!!! What utter *!!! Distraction! I will not waste time with it, but to tell people who are arguing about it that it is a distracting strategy to get people's attention off of stuff like: the 9/11 facts; Project for a New American Century; our dysfunctional intelligence community; campaign financing; health care; jobs going overseas; defense contractors trying to put Bush back into office; immigration; education; the bills we are running up that our children will have to pay . . . . everything that matters.

Generational warfare with cheerleaders in this Administration. I'm so disgusted, I can't shutup about it, and I know a lot of other people who aren't going to stop talking about the facts!!! The truth is our best defense.

I'm saying this stuff to anyone who will listen, and lots of people say they agree. Never underestimate the power of ordinary people talking to one another about the truth.

I've had it; I'm turning Bush OFF.

Thanks for your time.

2. I did it a while ago.
I had to stop listening to the news on my car radio because every time His Chimperial Majesty came on, I found myself screaming "Lies, LIES!" without realizing I was going to do it.

That kind of thing isn't healthy. x(

3. But What About His "Likability"
..or whatever they used to call it?

Even before he was elected (or appointed), I couldn't stand to listen to him, for some reason. Minute I'd hear his voice, I'd switch channels (radio or tv) or turn the thing off. Never could understand why some used to say he was personally likable -- didn't come thru to me. Now I refuse to listen to any of his crew.

someone posted here once and said they almost hurt themselves trying to get to the remote to turn him off!! Same here. I'd rather break my leg than listen to or see him!

5. An old friend of mine, who is an anarchist, has been saying this for years
When we used to have political discussions he'd just shake his head and laugh, wondering why I was stressing over all these details and what I'd do with my activism. His answer was simple.

"Ignore the government".

I know it's simplistic on it's face but do you realize how many ways you could actually make this work?

6. I watch no TV news ever except the Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
I know I can stand looking at * if it's Jon mocking him.
