Bill Maher jokes about Clinton BJs - Hillary in audience for award
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/143713p-127160c.html

Bill Maher has made another stab at career suicide.

The Bush-bashing comic stunned some of Hollywood's most powerful liberals by joking about Bill Clinton's sexual indiscretions at a benefit honoring Sen. Hillary Clinton.

New York's junior Senator was accepting an Oceana Partners award in Los Angeles last Wednesday for her work on environmental issues. Maher emceed the event, which also honored marine explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau, as well as Ron Howard and his Imagine partner, Brian Glazer.

<snip>

"Maher began bringing up 'Bill Clinton's jobs' - with Hillary sitting right there in front of him eating her chicken," says a witness. "It was just cruel. Ted Danson's wife, Mary Steenburgen, is a longtime friend of the senator's. I can't believe they approved of this."

<snip>

Maher also took a shot at Cousteau - sniping: "That must feel great, getting a one-quarter standing ovation." Cousteau walked out of the building shortly afterward.

1. Maher has always
joked about Clinton's BJs. Maher has it both ways he like to get "laughs" off of Clinton's sexual escapades but on the other hand he always thought they were not worthy of investigation by Starr, Maher is two faced. :argh:

19. two faced?
It might be rude and inappropriate in front of Senator Clinton, and a lame joke after all this time, but it's a perfectly consistent position to make jokes about something, but not think it requires a full investigation. We make jokes about the Thanksgiving photo-op, but don't think you have to waste more government time and money on it.

3. Ah, the decline of American humor continues. . .
and the nation's lack of grace and decency gets another boost. Ah, one day we may see a renewal in comedic creativity, but its evidence is sadly missed these days.

4. Tired, tired, tired
It's just not funny anymore. Why doesn't he make jokes about George Bush? Is he that afraid? Pick on the easy target because he knows that guy won't infringe on his freedom of speech? I'm getting tired of Bill Maher. This showed a total lack of class.

12. He should stick to it
Going back 5 years and bringing up a blow job when we're in the mess we're in is just, lazy. It's not funny, it's just going for the easy target. And in front of Hillary, sad and tired.

I actually like Mahr a lot, but if he can't come up with something contemporary, given the state of our nation, he apparently has lost some comedic talent.

usually, I don't mind Bill Maher ripping Clinton for that. He makes jokes about it, but remember, he was on our side during the impeachment. He rips apart Bush for far more important things.

He can joke about Clinton BJ's anytime he wants to, but NOT when Clinton's WIFE is in the room! THAT was rude and insensitive! He didn't bother to take Hillary's "embarrassment" factor into account. Maher's an ass.

Yes, Clinton blow-job jokes were in vogue (and even funny, sometimes) years ago, but now? It sounds as if he made the jokes specifically because Hillary was in the room, and that's just low class and mean.

Maher can be very funny, but he's not a person I would ever want to know. He has a wide nasty streak.

... and all the people saying stuff like, "blyyahahhhh Bill Maher is a friend of Ann Coulter and Bush and Cheney" are just dumb... Maher is a comedian, he makes fun of everybody.

All the righties think he's a liberal, and judging from some of the responses here, a lot of lefties think he's a neo-con. I guess when you can piss both sides off, you are a true good American. :D

Also spake Zappa:

Yes, they believed in all the papers
And the magazines that defined their folklore
They could never laugh
At who or what they thought they were
Or even what they thought
They sorta oughta be
They were totally empty
(Totally empty)
And their lives were really useless
So what the fuck?
They didn't have no sense of humor
Now they got nothing left
To laugh about
Including themselves

There's a time & a place for everything. Making stale jokes about a man's infidelity in front of his wife is less than INappropriate, it's reprehensible!

Anyone who condones that behavior or finds it acceptable is equally as classless and clueless!

I've seen a lot of actors who can't act, I've seen a lot of musical groups that were putrid, I've seen a lot of teachers who couldn't teach, I've seen a lot of mechanics who couldn't fix cars, and I've seen a lot of so-called comedians who thought that being mean-spirited was hilarious. All of the above mentioned make money in their repective fields. You will never hear me accuse Bill Maher of being funny.

47. For all those saying "lighten up" and "she's got a thick skin..."
answer me this...would it be appropriate for me to....

- make a joke about LBJ skull-f*cking the corpse of JFK in front of Ted Kennedy?
- make a joke about how Vietnam POWs were just crybabies who were hapless enough to get caught by the enemy in front of John McCain?
- make a joke about how clumsy amputees are in bed in front of Max Cleland?
- make a joke about how stupid Sonny Bono must have been to ski into a tree in front of Mary Bono?

Amazes me how the Clintons, especially Hillary, are exempt from the usual decorum and respect shown to others.

a transitional period happening in society. Some who backed Bush wholeheartedly will suddenly have the veils stripped away and not be clear what to do. Worse yet, the media is continuing its bizarre parroting of the disgraced administration's line of malarkey. There is little positive reinforcement for doing the right thing and joining up with the kid who's laughing about the Shrub having no fig leaves.

all I can say is TS.

Ha ha.
