How much TIME have you donated so far?
Not a knock on people who are donating their well-earned money, the campaigns need it -- but this election gets won with old fashioned blood, sweat, and tears.

Can you imagine if every Democrat registered just ONE voter? Landslide.

The fat cats plunk down their inheritances and watch from their easy chairs. We hit the streets, baby. :) And win. BIG.

2. Quite a bit, and would join you in urging others...
to work for a Dem candidate, and our eventual nominee. The volunteer I work most closely with has two small children, and always says to new volunteers that her work is for her children. She is a relentless advocate, and also says often: "This is war." Not "war" against other Dem candidates, but "war" in the sense of doing all she possibly can to oust GWB from the White House, and eliminate the danger she thinks he represents to her children, her country, and the world.

3. I'm probably averaging 15+ hours a day on my websites.
Some are political sites, and most of the others have at least some political message. The figure I gave includes time spent on research and promotion, which consist largely of surfing the Internet, posting on DU, etc.

4. Thumbs Up!
Also Sign Petitions, Make Phone Calls, Even Send letters of support..Some things are easier to do for people who have busy schedules...like making a phone call.

Don't underestimate the power of pooled money either. A fat cat may have an inheritance but a community can outpower a fat cat financially if they are in solidarity.

5. haha I am glad you asked
My efforts have mostly gone to party building efforts. Was elected to Chair Membership on local Dem board last June. Did big mem. drive recently, a couple hundred new members, thousands of dollars and dozens and dozens of volunteers. And I did every bit of the work for over 900 pieces so it was really, really cheap. Thanks to our postage permit we kept the project to around $300.

We're rockin' in the north country!

6. Hundreds of hours, probably more.
Besides the regular local party stuff (Central Committee, 2 Dem clubs and Office Manager for the local Dem. party office), there's the Dean campaign, the Boxer campaign, all the local campaigns and the recent recall election. Yeah, we're working our asses off to gear up to work to exhaustion for the March primries and November General Election. But other than that, nothin'. B-)
