say, how the hell is it that Rush...
...still owns any private property whatsoever? Under normal procedure, shouldn't everything he owns already have been seized under forfeiture laws? You know, that whole system that doesn't give a shit whether or not you're guilty, and you have to prove your innocence in order to get your property back - which usually means that you don't?

If I were a Floridian activist, I would be pulling up every drug forfeiture case filed since day one of the Limbaugh show, finding similar cases in which a defendant was bankrupted sans trial, and nailing it into the front door of the D.A.'s office, with news cameras everywhere, demanding the exact same action be taken in this one.

"Hm, you say the cash you paid for your house WASN'T obtained through drug trafficking? Well, prove it - or else it's our house now."

I mean, the Law is the Law, isn't it, Rush? That's what you've always said, right?

1. It doesn't work that way

It's a long, arduous process to prove that anything is acquired through drug trafficking. rush makes, what, 35 million per year? He paid for the house legally, in all probability.

Now, the illicit drugs, that's another story. He should burn in legal flames for that.

Edited for clarity

3. Isn't thatmainly applied to
sellers, not buyers. It's a very bad law, in any event, and I think if Rush is the case that destroys it, well, more power to him. Even the worst of us can accomplish some good in life, if we try.

4. Haven't y'all seen COPS?
the police catch you buying a nickel bag in your car, they seize your car. They catch you with a balloon of heroin in your house, they seize your house. They seize the property right away. They don't have to convict you first, or ever, really, although I suppose it makes it easier to get your stuff back if you're acquitted, or charges are dropped.
