"I wasn't planning on doing anything this soon, but something fell in my lap," Perloff said.

More than a sensational entrance for his new concert production company, Another Planet, Perloff's Springsteen coup is a gauntlet thrown at the feet of his former employers, San Antonio media giant Clear Channel Communications.

Clear Channel responded, serving Perloff with correspondence Friday, threatening to sue if he doesn't give up the Springsteen show. Tickets to the Aug. 16 show will go on sale Monday morning. Clear Channel has another Springsteen show the same weekend at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

1. Bill Graham would of done the same thing IMHO
This is great for the Bay Area ...and also a big deal
around here .

the negotiations with the city of Concord were intense .

Concord had to fight tooth and nail to retain ownership
of the Pavillion .

2. Don't get me started on Bill Graham.
Don't get me started on Bill Graham. Did you ever meet him? May he rest in peace, but what a perfect example of how power and money corrupt.

I have special place in my heart for him though .
for bringing the music to the Bay Area

I agree with you about how he ended up corrupt after many
years of running the whole gig here .

I was able to go to the memorial free concert in G.G. park
for Graham in 91 .

I perfer to remember the good times and the music .

5. Did you guys hear the e-mail Clear Channel sent to
Springsteen's manager after he spoke in support of the Dixie Chicks? He was the Senate hearings on rolling the FCC limits back to 35% and he said that the morning after Springsteen posted a statement of support for the Dixie Chicks on his fan site, he had this e-mail from an executive at Clear Channel:

"Let Bruce say it, and see what happens to him."

A thug is a thug is a thug, whether in the back-alley or the corporate board-room
