Regarding Al Sharpton:
There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not he will host SNL tonight.

As of 5:15pm, the NBC website still has him as confirmed.

Does anyone know the rationale behind not allowing him to do so?

I'm guessing The Fairness Doctrine, ie then all candidates would have to host (what a thought!), but would somebody please let me know:

1. What was the hoopla about;

2. Are you intending to watch SNL tonight?

Thank you.

1. SNL has given open invitations to all the other candidates
To host. Even Bush can host if he wants to.

2. Aha! Thanks.
Bush would be hysterical without even knowing it.

4. Yup, all about equal time
I heard on MN Public Radio yesterday that the show will not be broadcast from any stations in Iowa due to the equal time consideration.

I find it odd that they'd block the Sharpton show, but they didn't have any problems with showing it when John McCain hosted the show before the 2000 primaries.

6. Oh, I think it's time for a
little e-mail to Iowa NBC affiliates along with a big e-mail to NBC corporate...this is nuts!

8. GREAT POINT!
I wonder how many stations postponed it due to ET considerations then?

9. It won't be aired here in Oklahoma:
http://www.kjrh.com/

I will be able to catch it because I have a "special" satellite rig and can see broadcastss from several other states, but there are probably less than a couple dozen other Okies who have the capability. :grr:
