Why shouldn't LaRouche be in a debate?
As long as he's not in jail, I'd love to see a debate with LaRouce...

Why shouldn't he talk, he's more qualified to be president than Libbymop...

I'm just asking because he seems cool, crazy and just wacked out enough to spark some good comment and high times during a debate featuring many of the democratic candidates who are in the front running of the current primary race, if you will.

1. Because...
Like Traficant, he's not a Democrat according to the party. Pat Buchanan could say he's a Democrat tomorrow, but that doesn't mean the DNC would let him on the debate stage

2. there really is no good reason for him to be excluded.
Most people think he's a nut, but he does have many people that support him. Its not the debate hosts to decide who is viable, its the voters.

3. Because he's a lunatic!
If we nominate him, the Repugs will get a 50 state sweep, and we'll pretty much alienate everyone within our own party! I'd rather somehow renominate Mondale or Dukakis than this unelectable nut.

4. Because he is a fascist jerk...
... who is a Democrat ONLY so he can sometimes get people on the ballot by running "plain American" named people against those with very "ethic" names. Enough reason.

6. bingo!
I hope no one here is unlucky enough to have perused a copy of "The New Federalist", the LaRouchite 'newspaper'. Shit will make your hair turn green and your teeth itch.

"Far Right" seems inadequate to describe his views. "Fascist" is almost too plain. But it will do.

5. yeah..you're right
Increasing the number of candidates on the stage will help the voters get a clearer pucture of where all the candidates stand on the issue that are most important to us....

This isn't that much of an important election...it's not like the whole future of this country is riding on the election or anything.....

In fact...I can even think of a good reason why having a wacked out lunatic who pretends to be a Democrat..and only gets votes because voters are confused would diminish or make a joke out of our party or our candidates at this nonimportant time in our nations history...

WTF!!!! Let him in the debate!

:argh:

8. Because it would be cruel
Because it would be cruel to allow the old man to make a fool of himself in public. Let him take the platform and he'll talk about AIDS-carrying mosquitoes and how the Queen Elizabeth deals dope.

9. Wow...that crazy
I knew the Queen was a meth-freak, but not a dopehead...That's just crazy...

I'm still not convinced he shouldn't have his piece to speak at least once during the debating season before the primary elections, call me crazy, but that's how I tend to perceive the entire situation at hand, for the moment at the very least.

17. Look
The party can decide who is and is not a democrat. LaRouche is an anti-Semitic fascist who is in need of mental health professionals. He is NOT a Democrat according to the DNC, and no matter how much he claims he is, that won't change the fact that he ISN'T.

He'll find some excuse to launch off into some historical soliloquy about the Bank of England, Breton Woods and the IMF no matter what questions are asked.

21. Nonsense
There is no comparison between McKinney and LaRouche.

McKinney presented a view that Bush's corporate cronies were in line to profit from the war on terror. Well, they were and they did. Maybe that's a conspiracy theory, but one supported by facts.

LaRouche is a kook and has been since long before anybody ever heard of Cynthia McKinney. I still remember that little ballot proposition he pushed here in California in the eighties to quarantine AIDS patients and the phoney arguments he put forward to support them. Mosquitoes carry AIDS, indeed. When challenged, he backtracked to saying that no one can prove it isn't true. We had to spend time and money defeating that piece of tripe that would have been better spent defeating Republicans.

Lyndon LaRouche is no more to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate than Pat Paulsen.

22. Because LaRouche is a felon and a cult leader
and to the extent that he has political beliefs, they lie more on the far-right side of the political spectrum than on the left. Putting him on with serious candidates would embarass the Party and only give this egomaniacal lunatic a free platform from which to disseminate is cock-eyed conspiracy theories.

David Koresh's organization was more worthy of a spot on national television that LaRouche's.
