As our society appears to be descending into barbarism, the rebuilding of Temple Bar gate appears timely (Report, July 7). Now that displaying the heads of executed adversaries is acceptable once again, I trust the spikes on the gate will be put to their former use, relieving newspaper front pages of the task.
