Are you prepared to vote......
for the candidate who wins the democratic nomination to successfully boot Bush?

Only then will Democratic Underground Be United In 2004,
so in the meantime support your candidates and remember this,
who you disagree with now
will be your partner later in our quest to the white house. :-)

14. Leiberman is Bush-Lite.
President Lie-berman would be worse than Dubya -- representing the total degredation of the Democratic Party. For me, this would represent a Green future.

4. I will vote for anyone other than Bush
I could probably name a few mass murdering psychopaths I would rather vote for than Bush.

I firmly beleive in the benefit of "lesser evil" voting. While I would prefer a candidate whom I whole heartedly support, I figure if enough people vote with the lesser evil, the extreme right would have to start running better candidates to compete. The democrats would have to reciprocate with an even better candidate. Eventually, all this crap we have now is left behind as a distant painfull memory as the republicans run candidates more like Eisenhower the Moderate rather than Bush Der Furher, and the democrats run people more like Rosevelt The Liberal rather than Cliton the Slightly Left of Center.

6. I am prepared to vote for whoever wins
the nomination because I do not want Bush another four! This country is in trouble as it is.Another four years with Bush will have an attitude "does it matter", I'll do what I want. So far he's pulled that off his first three years with a republican congress and senate. I don't even want to imagine how hard it would be for working families with children to care for and raise to have even a decent life. The middle class now is getting squeezed to lower levels and living paycheck to paycheck, those lucky enough to have a decent job.

I've been ask to go to the Democratic Convention held this weekend in Orlando.I was asked to be delegate for a few candidates but unfortunately I'm not well enough but you can bet I'll do all I can to see the nominated candidate win! I hope all of you will too!

7. Democratic Underground united in 2004???
Now THAT's a pipe dream. This place will NEVER be united. It's an online, anonymous discussion group.

That being said, I'm currently in the "Anyone but Lieberman" camp. That will change to the "Anyone but Bush" camp after the convention.

I solemnly swear upon all that I hold sacred that no matter who gets the democratic nomination I will vote for him or her even if I have to hold my nose and avert my eyes and shower in muriatic acid to get the stench off me afterwards if turns out to be Lieberman.

Will that suffice?

There's a few in there I'd have to hold my nose and bring a puke bucket for, but they'd still get my vote.

Edited to add:

I do hold out one exception to this. Should polling indicate that the Democratic candidate is getting support similar to a third party candidate and a third party candidate look like they have the very best possiblity of defeating Dumbass*, I will vote for the candidate with the best chance of defeating Dumbass*.

I know, I know, but nothing is impossible, incredibly improbable yes, but not impossible.

I am not ready to give up on my candidate nor should any of us give up yet...but yes, we will at some point, all have to come together and vote Dem.
I hate the idea of lesser of two evils cause you still end up with evil either way.
I will continue to support the candidate I feel is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack until things are decided.....

I'll vote Kucinich...and hope I get the chance to do so again in Nov 04.
So peaceout everyone

36. I agree 100 % getting rid of Bush is #1 for all of Us!
I posted on a thread about the draft and spoke of my support for General Clark. I heard him again tonight on CSPAN and he says everything I want to hear so he speaks to me and my family and he has our support in the primary.

But I am prepared to vote for whoever gets nominated because there are fine Democrats running but I just feel General Clark as a real chance on winning and beating Bush with his experience and leadership!

May the best candidate win and we become very united for our cause!

Although I will definitely vote for any of the other eight, when push comes to shove.

But I draw the line at supporting Willie Tanner. Putting Lieberman in the White House next year will most likely result in a Bill Frist presidency in 2008.

41. Lieberman would be highly problematic for me...
I do not wish to see Lieberman become president. I would have to assess things later on if he wins the nomination. I don't think he will. He has said some positive things and is better than Bush on most issues out of conviction or political expediency. I'm not interested in Lieberman's personal views, which are not progressive, but rather how he would act in office. I think it would be an improvement domestically, but not necessarily on the global stage.
