Local Newspaper Prints Letter: Kill the War Protesters
Letters To The Editor: Another name for war protesters

snip...

I call these people traitors; they call themselves protesters. They are nothing more than an infectious disease that infests the minds and hearts of the Americans we are defending.

snip...

But let it be known what this guardian of America's freedom thinks of these protesters: Traitors should be hanged.

6. Here's what I wrote in reply...
If Derik Jobe is so concerned about defending our freedoms in the US Navy, then why is he so eager to deny us those freedoms? THIS antiwar protestor resents it. Perhaps he would have had the Boston Tea Party perpetrators hanged as traitors, too. Dear Mr. Jobe, THIS war opponent believes you should make your sacrifice and perform your honored service to this country in a war that is JUST and not based on lies. And when you do so, your so-called Commander-in-Chief (who initiated and spread those lies, and who shirked is own military duty) shouldn't be conniving behind your back to dismantle your VA benefits, close your VA hospitals, cut your combat pay AND your family separation differential.

12. nice response....
...here's mine.

For years, we heard that Saddam Hussein murdered people for dissent against his government.

I also heard that we went into Iraq and make them like us, a democracy.

Turns out I was wrong. Mr. Jobe has tipped his hand....he wishes to make America more like Iraq and murder people who disagree with the government.

Thanks for your honesty, Mr. Jobe. I'll be sending a copy of your letter to the Secretary Of The Navy and letting him know that you believe in murdering people who are protected by the Constitution. Enjoy your court-martial!

8. Well, the poor guy is from Amarillo.
Has anyone ever been to Amarillo? I would be suspicious of anyone's sanity who claims to be "proud" of being a Texan. Anyone from Amarillo who claims to be rational resolves any suspicions. The confines of navy boat must seem like a limitless universe to him. "Armpit of the world" would be a kindness in describing Amarillo, Texas.

15. I had delusions when I was a young man also
I knew history and current events but I could not see the real motives of our leaders that were behind their words. In the future, I hope Seaman Jobe makes an attempt to see the world more broadly as he considers the issues our nation is facing. Such psychopathic banter is immature and unproductive.

Further, I don't think that it is appropriate that your editor published a letter where the author advocated killing citizens that he disagreed with.

I hold our enemies in higher standing. At least they are willing to fight for their beliefs and the country they love.

Last time I checked that's what WE were doing, you fucking idiot. Fighting to save the country we love from BRAINWASHED FUCKING SHEEP like yourselves who follow fascist dictators and FAUX propaganda without questions.

You want to hang some traitors, motherfucker? Why don't we start with those pieces of shit who deliberately allowed terrorists to murder 2700 people on US soil. Your so called "Commander in Chief" and his PNAC advisers. Whoever ordered those planes to stand down and NOT intercept at least the last 2 of the 4 planes that crashed that morning.

Why don't we court martial the assholes who invaded 2 other countries based on false pretenses, and still have not caught either of the two bad guys those invasions were supposed to be all about.

Bad guys - mind you - who had DECADES of history doing business with the family of that sorry assed fucking piece of shit that you call "pResident".

There's your traitors, asswipe. Commence the lynching :grr:

27. Dear Sonar Technician Lobe
Do you remember your oath?

"I, (state your name) so solomnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foriegn and domestic, that I will bear true faith and alliegence to the same, and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and those he appoints over me in accordance with Naval Regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice (so help me God)."

You are advocating the violation of the oath. Communicating a threat violates the UCMJ. And attempting to deny people thier right of free speech (enshrined as the 1st amendment to the Constitution) is a violation of your oath also.

As one of your fellow 'guardians of freedom', you shame me and all who took that oath with your threats to our fellow citizens. You advocate the discarding of the Constitution that you are sworn to defend.

If I ever meet with you, and hear you say such things, I will bring you up on appropriate charges for your actions.

Yeah kill people for telling the truth...modern living for the enlightened Republic...
Plato's Republic

SOCRATES - Then, my excellent fellow, let none of our poets say to us that `The gods in the guise of strangers of different kinds become all sorts of people and visit cities'.
Let no one make false statements about Proteus and Thetis and let no one in tragedy or in other poems present a transformed Hera as a priestess begging "for the life-giving children of Inachos, the River of Argos".
Let no other such falsehoods be made for us.
Let mothers not be deceived and frighten their children with these things by telling improper myths such as that some gods travel about at night disguised as strangers of all kinds, and so avoid blaspheming against the gods and making their children into cowards.

ADEIMANTOS - Indeed they must not.

SOCRATES - But, while the gods are not of a kind to change themselves, do they deceive and bewitch us into thinking that they appear in allsorts of shapes?

ADEIMANTOS - Perhaps.

SOCRATES - Why would a god wish to deceive by putting forward an illusion either by word or deed?

ADEIMANTOS - I do not know.

SOCRATES - Do you not know that all gods and all men hate the true lie, if it is possible to use such an expression?

35. Derik L.Jobe reminds me of Mark Byron, another Reich wing nut.
These fantasies of death to those not supporting the Reich are getting tedious.

From Mark Byron's website:
November 13, 2003
The Usefulness of Civil Disobedience-Part II-The Bonhoffer Option

. . .

Note-I am NOT advocating the following fantasy episode, but it has a following in the darker parts of my mind.

WASHINGTON-January 6, 2004. A paramilitary organization calling itself the Christian Liberation Front changed the balance of power in Washington by a pair of brutal attacks this afternoon. A force estimated at about 200 CLF commandos stormed the Supreme Court building, killing 35 people, including five Supreme Court Justices. At the same time, a contingent of 1,000 CLF paramilitaries attacked the Hart Senate Office Building, where a Senate Democratic Caucus meeting was being held. Approximately 50 people were killed in the attack. Once the commandos had seized the building, they systematically killed Democratic senators from states with Republican governors. Here is a list of the 21 senators killed

Daniel Akaka Byron Dorgan Mary Landrieu
John Breaux Bob Graham Blanche Lincoln
Hillary Clinton Ernest Hollings Barbara Mikulski
Kent Conrad Daniel Inouyye David Pryor
Tom Daschle Tim Johnson Harry Reid
Mark Dayton Ted Kennedy Paul Sarbanes
Chris Dodd John Kerry Chuch Schumer

Joe Lieberman was campaigning in South Carolina, and missed the assassins. The attackers turned themselves in to police, and are proudly confessing their crimes, cooperating with authorities.

If the governors appoint Republican replacements, there will be 72 Republicans in the US Senate until replacement elections can be held. Even if a few Democrats are named, there will be likely at least 60 votes to vote for cloture and appoint replacements for the slain Supreme Court justices, changing the balance of power on the court.

OK, I'm ignoring Vermont, where the governor is a RINO, IIRC, and sparing Ben Nelson and Zell Miller as well. I'm also assuming that Bobby Jindal wins Saturday.

I'm also assuming that such bloodshed would be a good idea; I don't think it would. Would five extra conservatives on the Supreme Court and a filibuster-free Senate be worth the bloodshed? It is opposing evil, given some of the less-than-biblical decisions that have emanated from the court.
http://markbyron.typepad.com/main/2003/11/the_usefulness__1.html

The republican party and its media companies legitimize this type of shit.

39. I recieved a reply back from my feedback to them
Thanks for responding to our feedback. If you'd like your comments
considered for publication as a letter to the editor, please send your
mailing address and daytime phone number for verification. Only your name
and city would be published.

Though I'd hardly compare Jobe's letter with a cry for Jewish blood, I agree
this is a democracy, and a fellow like Jobe has a right to make a fool of
himself. In light of the current hammering, though, letting him use our
op-ed page to do it might not have been such a good idea!

His letter will not go unanswered -- we are besieged with responses.

And I sent this in return:
"There is no cure for this disease. Never will everyone be satisfied. But let it be known what this guardian of America's freedom thinks of these protesters: Traitors should be hanged. I hold our enemies in higher standing. At least they are willing to fight for their beliefs and the country they love."
A disease? Hanged? You can't see a correlation to the hate of anti-Semitism here? You can't see the same mindset that can't deal with dissent? One that can't deal with the voices of any opposition? Although this is a democracy and yes, he has every right to say it... I doubt you would publish my opinion of our current Resident in Chief, so no, I do not understand what would possess your paper to publish something calling protest a "disease" and calling for hangings.

No thanks on having my information shared. If this the type of stuff that you think your subscription base wants to read about... I don't need any lynchings or anything.
