OUTRAGE: FL Comcast Cable Network Refuses to Air Democratic Ads

<snip>
TALLAHASSEE -- A statewide cable news network late Wednesday pulled the plug on two Democratic Party television ads that targeted Gov. Jeb Bush and House Speaker Johnnie Byrd.

The ads accuse the Republican leaders of using the ongoing medical malpractice stalemate for their own political gain.

The two 30-second ads were slated to begin Wednesday night on the Florida News Channel, which is seen in several of the state's major media markets but not Orlando. But Bob Brillante, the network's managing partner, voiced concerns about their accuracy.

"We're not comfortable putting them on the air. We can't corroborate the accuracy based on the network's previous reporting," he said. "That's not to say it's not accurate, but as a news we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard."

Democratic Party officials immediately bought time on the Comcast cable network, starting in Tallahassee on Wednesday night and going statewide today.

"This has never happened before that I know of," said Scott Maddox, chairman of the Florida Democratic Party.

2. How can you get hold of Comcast to complain?
I have heard they are not that caring about customers. We don't have it, but I think that is outrageous.

The devil incarnate is at the helm right now and I just hope you can hang on for two more years and he's out on his big fat repugnant butt.

And, his evil brother is out of our lives in 2005!

5. I think you are wrong on this;
They bought time on Comcast after being turned down by the Florida News Network. I believe Comcast is airing the ads. I stand to be corrected.

7. They have to hold themselves to a higher standard?
They run Bush speeches all the time, correct? They're full of lies. Comcast sucks the big one, I've got DirectTV, but now that Rupert bought it, I'm going to have to go Dish.

12. F*** Comcast!
Sarasota company -- i.e. Katherine Harris's turf.

Oh, and I suppose they check the accuracy of RNC commercials that they air -- YEAH, RIGHT!

I am a Floridian living in exile -- Comcast is currently trying to make inroads into markets here in PA, and I sure as hell will let people here know about their actions in FL.

Back in the US, back in the US, back in the USSR!

13. No but it's all right to liken Tom Daschle to Saddam Hussein
and no media offical gets bent out of shape over the accuracy of that.

What the fuck?
