Greg Palast has a State Dept Document.....
that was written before the Bush administration declared Saddam Hussein an "immediate threat" outlining the economic reorganization of Iraq. In other words, selling off anything and everything that was state-run. This includes the OIL FIELDS.

Remember Bush's statement of Iraq's oil belong to the Iraqi people?

Like everything else that has come out of his mouth, this was bogus.

Palast also reveals why General Jay Garner was "fired" in his position as interim leader of Iraq. He announced early that "Iraq will have elections in 90 days." Apparantly Gen Jay Garner was not in the loop as far as the reorganizing of Iraqs economy because no Iraqi, if elections WERE held, would elect someone who would pass off all control of their own oil fields to the Americans, thus all elections in Iraq are "on hold" until American imperialist corporations can clean out the country of any and all state-run entities.

3. Klayman had that last week when he was on Bill Moyers..
That's what he finally got from the FOIA request.. and when the cour ruled in his favor, they had to turn over some of the documents..That one was one of them..

8. He was just on the Rhandi Rhodes program...
Greg Palast: In this case the question was this secret plan in the State Dept, its still secret but now I’m telling you about it so it ain’t so secret, Rhandi, and its 101 pages and it uses terms and it says in it, in fact I’m looking at it and it talks about selling off every state-owned industry in Iraq, which is just about everything, and it says -especially those in the oil and supporting industries- that’s a quote.

I tape-recorded some of his interview...

12. I think we're talking about two different documents....
The Cheney/oilfield papers that Klayman got through FOIA were Commerce Dept. assessments of the entire Middle East oil infrastructure--who had what and what companies played a role in each country, etc.--while the document Palast refers to was mentioned in the press sometime this past April, and comes from the State Dept. It is purported to be the US economic plan for Iraq, and is reported to be a guide to privatizing everything in the country, with American companies offered first dibs on whatever they want.

Cheers.
