Clark on MSNBC
Edited on Fri Jul-25-03 05:25 PM by Cush
Damn, forgot all about it.

From what I saw, still doesn't believe the war was justified.

Now talking about politics, Pat thinks he's running for VP, Bill says he's already decided to run to Pres, but he just hasn't announced it yet.

2. They mentioned that some (D) heavyweights are throwing their
support behind the draftclark movement. They didn't say who though. They also mentioned that the DraftClark movement has more than 80 branches in 39 states.

13. I would love to hear the Democrats urging Wesley Clark to run
I think we have a great field right now, but I want Wesley to run. He really seems like the real deal to me.

14. Ted Sorenson is one
I also have heard Soros, who normally stays out of politics, is another. I noticed in one of Clark's speeches he mentioned Soros...I guess those internationalists know each other very well.

3. Press to Clark: "You refused to rise to the bait on Dean ..."
Did they try to get Clark to criticize Dean? And he refused?

Good for Wesley.

6. Clark is so far above everybody else at this point...
that whatever he does, he'll retain respect and dignity.

While I like all of the current contenders in the Dem camp; Clark outshines them all. As for a comparison between Clark and bush....really, therre just isn't any comparison.

Clark still sitting on the fence, discussing it with his family. He knows there is plenty of time, and others will burn out in the near future. This also gives him a chance to gauge reactions to the rhetoric of the others. He knows he can beat bush, but I think he has respect for the Dem candidates.

This man has DIGNITY....if he runs, I belive it will be a cakewalk.

as an added attraction....just think about the debates!

That's another matter. Good piece about that on NotGeniuses site, I believe today.

5. Watching Clark made me want to cry
This might sound sad, but watching Clark want to cry. He was so terrific. He was knowledgeable, well spoken, and so reasoned that I felt even if someone disagrees with him, they couldn't hate him. Notice how he just rattled off information like it was second nature. Bush can't even get basic information straight ("Saddam kicked weapons inspectors out"). He seemed to have exactly what Bush lacked, at least in gravitas.

After watching Clark, I'm determined he is going to be on the ticket one way or another. Do you think he'll be on the ticket as president or vice president?

And on another off topic note, I'm glad that Pat Buchanan has a show on television. I probably don't agree with many of his views, but he's intelligent and carries himself with respect. In other words, he's not Ann Coulter.

8. I wouldn't want to think...
...that Ann Coulter was any kind of standard for political discourse. Of any kind.

15. No MSNBC on my cable
Could someone who saw Clark give me some specifics?

People tend to forget that Clark has worked in the White House for a time equal to Dubya's. Plus, he actually did some work while he was there...wasn't on vacation most of the time...and didn't lie 24/7.

As for VP, while he might be considering the postion, I believe him when he says he is very concerned for our country, Clark is an alpha male.

In one question and answer session, a audience member asked him about 911 and the Patriot's Act. Clark answered that the legislation was hastily written and needed to be reviewed (more on this in his speech at Seton Hall). Then Clark turned and looked at the guy and with a calm, authoritative voice said: Never be afraid!

At the risk of sounding trite, I felt my back straighten...yes sir.

17. an important indicator
My wife thinks he's a hunk. Now, I am not saying that is all she sees in him, she said that after hearing him speak on several occasions. She likes his sincere manner.

She seems interested in what I see in him. I guess part of me is still a soldier, and tend to trust a soldier over a corportate type. The military has a code of honor, no such code is present in the corporate world.

I would trust Clark, Kerry, and McCain before I would trust the corporate types in the Bush administration.

16. Bob Beckel (sp?)
I didn't see all of it, but thought he was terrific. He was fun, easy to like and made Ann Coulter look mean.
