Got a reply from the TX Secretary of State's office
regarding Diebold Voting Machines email with links that I sent yesterday. It sounds positive enough, but they are Republicans.

July 25, 2003

Dear ________:

Thank you for your e-mail. As the authority charged with certifying voting systems for use in Texas, the Secretary of State does have the power to bring a system back in for review if it is warranted. One of the requirements for certification set out in Section 122.001 of the Texas Election Code is that a system be safe from fraudulent or unauthorized manipulation. We will certainly review the information you have linked to as part of the process of ensuring that voting systems used in the state of
Texas meet the standards for safe and accurate voting. Again, thank you for your e-mail. If you have further comments or information, please e-mail or contact the elections division toll-free at 1-800-252-8683.
