This idea just occurred to me
Why don't the Democrats try introduce programs to the military so that they can eventually backdoor the programs into the mainstream?

3. like the Universal Healthcare
I thought that military doctors leave a lot to be desired when I was in the active military. One of the reasons why is because they assumed that soldiers were faking right off the bat. I detest tricare(HMO) also.

I feel that tricare may come out to equal NO CARE!!!

Tricare is the one of the main reasons that the military hated Clinton.

2. You mean create benefits to improve the quality of life........
and then work to make those benefits more mainstream? So that they become the STANDARD here?

If so, why not start with the civilians, right here and right now?

Interesting idea......please explain further.

5. Because it can put a wedge in between Repukes and the mil.vote
the programs would encounter less resistance and if the programs prove to be successful then it could appeal to the public and the military to put out the word, it would be much harder for the repukes to block because the program would already have been successful.

4. Military life and civilian life...
...are not interchangeable, and what's good for the military is not always good for the civilian world, and vice versa....

6. It's still not a bad idea.
Someone needs to stand up for the soldiers anyway. The Republicans aren't going to do it. They prefer to wave flags and accuse people who oppose Bush of not supporting the troops.

If millions of military personnel and their famalies become accustomed to a good health care program, they might support candidates who want to provide the same benifits for others.

8. That just happens to be what Wellstone and Kerry were working on
before he was killed. I think I saw something last February regarding Kerry's demands to the pentagon regarding healthcare, both physical and mental, for military personnel. I'll try to find it.
