I think the parallels between Martin Sheen's character and Dean are outtasight. I particularly keep remembering that episode where they did all the flashbacks to the beginning, first getting involved with Bartlett's campaign. I forget which character it was who told his friend, trying to recruit him, "This is the guy we've been hoping to find." (or similar to that)

Dean is the candidate I didn't dare HOPE to find.
