Want to join my campaign? (medical care costs)

I'm going to write my senators and congressman a letter. It's going to be very friendly, maybe even complimentary (I'll grit my teeth-all 3 are repubs), and non-confrontational. Really just a matter of personal curiosity. I've searched the House and Senate websites and I can't find the answer. I'm sure (ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE) that they have the information I'm looking for.

What does their medical care cost? How much do they pay in either monthly or yearly insurance premiums? How much for just personal coverage? How much to cover family members? What kind of deductible do they have, individual and total? Do they have dental insurance? If so, how much does that cost them? Prescription drug coverage? And the cost of that?

Now, I'm not that naive. I'm pretty sure my first answer will be mainly smoke and mirrors, fog and shadows, generalities and obfuscation. But I plan to hang in with this like a pit-bull until I get the answers. Always polite. Never hurling insults. Just trying to get the facts.

I'll keep a file of all the correspondence. If it proves to be as interesting as I think it will, I'll forward the file to newspapers, news magazines, and TV stations. If it turns out to be as good a deal for them as I think it is, I'll offer to sign up for the same program. If it's good enough for our elected representatives, then I'm confident that it'll be fine for me.

I invite you to join me in this endeavor. I think we have at least one member in every state.
When I finish my letter, I'll post it so you can maybe use it as a guide if you like.

Fellow on C Span the other day allowed the Congress health plan is not so good , average. But (Shhhhh) They could go to Bethesda Naval Hospital if necessary. Free I believe. Ask them if that is true.

This is just a short note to thank you for the long hours you put in on our behalf and all that you do for the state of Alabama.

I have a question that I hope you can help me with. As I’m sure you’re aware, the cost of medical care has been in all the headlines lately. I guess because of the new Medicare legislation and also due to the rising costs of health care, prescription drugs, and insurance.

What I’d like to know is what you have to pay for health care? I’ve searched the House and Senate websites and I just can’t find anything about it. I’m curious to know what your monthly or yearly health insurance premiums are. What kind of deductible do you have? Dos it cover just you, or all your immediate family members too? Do you have dental insurance? How about prescription drugs?

I imagine it’s pretty expensive for you, just like the rest of us. I’d really like to know how your costs compare to mine.
