Whoa! Check out these poll numbers on Blair's government
This is from a story in the Herald Sun (London) claiming that Blair's right hand mand, Alastair Campbell, will resign over the Dr. Kelly controversy.

You can read the full story here: http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,6809900%255E663,00.html

But check this out:

If Mr Campbell were to leave before then, his many enemies would certainly claim it was an acceptance of responsibility for the whole WMD crisis facing Mr Blair's fast-falling credibility.

The Daily Telegraph poll showed that more than 60 per cent of people believed the Blair Government had lost control and seemed to be at the mercy of events.

A remarkable 47 per cent told the pollsters they did not believe a word Mr Blair said.<!!!!!!>

The poll also showed the inept Conservative Party holding a 37 per cent to 34 per cent lead over Labour.

The poll was taken in the turbulence that followed Dr Kelly's suicide.

--------------------

WOW! Blair is going down, and hopefully Shrub is soon to follow.

1. actually
i would have thought his numbers were even lower than that...

47% not believing blair doesn't seem as low as they've been in the recent past...

i hope they keep falling tho

4. I think its incredible!
Think about it. If this poll is to be believed, fully HALF of Britain's citizens think that EVERYTHING their Prime Minister says is a lie! That is pretty damning in my book!

2. they did not believe a word Mr Blair said
You can thank Iain Duncan Smith for that. That's his tag line at the weekly Q&A in the House of Commons.

3. Labour is better than Conservatives
I would rather have Blair than Iain Duncan Smith as the prime minister of UK. Hopefully, Labour will oust Blair as the leader or if a new election is called that the Liberal Democrats will do well enough to force a coalition.

6. I agree...sort of
I really want to see Blair fall because it will put the pressure on Bush BIGTIME! Blair falling over all this controversy would make the American public step back, reflect on what is happened, and ask themselves if they should follow suit and oust Bush (and the answer would be, of course, a resounding YES!).

I don't want to see the Conservatives come in power, but to me getting Blair out is more important.

11. Conservative or Labour Replacement
ousting Blair will be a MAJOR slap in the face to bush. Whoever takes over as PM, they will not be in a position to kiss bush's smarmy ass.

Blair's ouster will mean that the bush mis-administration will have lost its one thick-n-thin ally, not to mention the further diminution of the UK's prestige and influence on the world stage (particularly the EU).

14. Say no to Tories
No we don't want tthe Conservatives in power, but if Labour sees that they might loose the next election it will mean that Balir looses his "we can't win without him" protection & hopefully he will be replaced before the next election. However my understanding is that it is much more difficult for Labour to change leaders than it was for the Conservatives when they dumped Thatcher.

10. Saying Blair is Labour is like saying
Lieberman is a Democrat.

15. Bush no better
47% may not believe a word Blair says, but 51% of Americans "have doubts" about Bush's trustworthiness:
