4. Rural dwellers are not necessarily
socially conservative. That is a myth. I have met a lot of wife swappers and other such nonsense who live in the sticks.

There are rural church goers and then there are rural dwellers who serve on volunteer fire depts. and such, who would definitely take to Dean.

6. Well, there is
They just share a greater sense of community. At least in my experience, lines aren't drawn politically. Gun use is much different philosophically. Everyone has them, it seems.

3. Dean can definitely attract rural voters
Not all rural folks are fanatic fundamentalist Christian, ya know.
People move to the country many times because they have a live and let live attitude. Plus Dean is a straight shooter and that is a quality contry folk love!!

I think he's got a lot going for him to appeal to rural voters. George Bush Fundamentalists? Uh, probably not. But as mandyky has already said, not EVERYone out here in the sticks are fundie nuts. ;-)

8. see how he does in
iowa..when jessie jackson was running for president he was well recieved in rural iowa. the newyork reporter was amazed that jackson could go into a rural diner and talk to the folks about their problems. the reporter noted that his worst response was from the black farmers in northern iowa. they couldn`t relate to jj at all... looks like dean has the stuff to do the same as jackson ,relate to the people. we`ll know more when he gets done with his bike across iowa tour....
