"touched up photos" of Uday and Qusay - Wash Post article
I just saw this post on another thread but I think it deserves a KICK: Us troops used reconstruction putty to make the corpses look more like Saddam's sons...This is in the WASHINGTON POST. Yah.

the bodies were 'touched up'...an unheard of practice in the ME, that will just lead to further questions.

We are running the Moran(sic) School of Foreign Policy these days...

6. Then there was this:
"A U.S. military official said they had undergone some post-mortem facial reconstruction -- standard practice they said, not an attempt to deceive the Iraqi people. There was no sign that either of them had committed suicide, they added. snip

"The two bodies have undergone facial reconstruction with morticians putty to make them resemble as closely as possible the faces of the brothers when they were alive," a U.S. military official said. "

8. why would they do this?
Just makes no sense. If these are not the actual bodyies of the sons word would leak out. Truth has a way of slipping thorugh the cracks. Wonder if there is an even deeper reason they were made up? The Bush regime has created a fantasy the resistance is made up of a few Saddam holdouts when in fact it is at least 7 different groups and counting. As long as there is the idea that Iraqis are scared to join the Americans Bush has an excuse for the Iraqi people not jumping onboard. The 'unsure Iraqi people' and the 'possible body double' idea floating around can keep that fantasy going.

However if we for sure got Saddam and his family yet the fighting continued what excuse would Bush have?

11. Planning. planning, planning.
you don't think the guys who did this knew ahead of time they were gonna do it? It was just a spur-of-the-moment, spontaneous, "aw, why not?" kinda move? Come on, man.

12. perhaps they got the dental records the same place they got the

exrays of the legs: when they ransacked the homes of the brothers.

Was wondering if charring on a body would show up in an x-ray? didn't they say the bodies were charred? the leg in the x-ray they showed, looked uncharred.

13. OK, so which one is it
I mean some people here at DU swear that the Washington Post isn't worth wiping your ass with, and some take everything they say as gospel.

So, which one is it?

18. Two bullets in/behind the right ear...
Now call me whacky, but that doesn't sound like something that just "happened" during a firefight.

"Odai was believed to have died from a head injury caused by a blunt object. Qusai had two bullet wounds to his head, in and just behind his right ear, doctors and medical officials said. They said they did not think the wounds were self-inflicted."
