BIG Elephant in the Room - Saudi support of 9/11 terrorists
28 pages redacted.

It is the pinacle of hypocrisy for this country to invade Iraq on the grounds of aid to terrorists when we are close allies with Saudi Arabia, a country whose officials allegedly gave FINANCIAL BACKING to the 9/11 attackers.

Yet, strangely, we have not attacked Saudi Arabia. To the contrary, our "President" is cozy with Saudi Arabia. 28 PAGES of links deleted.

Oh yeah, oil. I forgot.

2. Rich Lowry wrote on this this morning
He said that the Saudi's have successfully wormed their way into the washington establishment such that they aren't obvious targets--he also suggests that we (democratcs) should attack President Bush on this issue. Posted more on it at my website--> http://politicalcomment.blogspot.com

Of course he doesn't mention the oil ties that also exist between the Saudis and this administration.

the biggest story in the 9/11 report is what was removed.

SAUDI TIES is the headline.

5. Does anyone think the average American ties Bush and SA together?
That's my concern about this. It should be a great issue for us. The intentional cover up of Saudi Arabia's involvement in 9-11. But, the average American probably doesn't see that Bush has a vested personal interest in protecting his Saudi buddies. Does anyone have any links to credible information showing that the Saudi's and Bush's are tied together?

10. Actually I think a lot of Americans do
Bill Maher "The Saudis, our allies (wink, wink.)"

Tweety was even talking about it.

I even hear rightwingnuts on the radio talking about it sometimes

So, I think a large portion of at least the voting population knows at least about Saudi ties to terror/Al-Qaeda and it is becoming ever more clear that they are being given a free pass.

This should be a MAJOR campaign issue. Why is the * Admin. coddling the Saudis? Why did he tell the FBI to "back off" investigating them pre-911. I'm skeptical that this will be used, however. Big Oil backs Democrats, too. We'll see.

9. Any mention of Iraq in the 911?
After all we did invade that country, kill thousands of its' people, and still occupy it. Surely that country must be mentioned more than Saudi Arabia. Don't you think? But I haven't heard Iraq mentioned.

13. That's the point...
we say it tongue in cheek but this is crazy.

It's time to call a spade a spade.

It's time to stop turning the other cheek so we save .15 a gallon.

14. Here is my question...
"when we are close allies with Saudi Arabia, a country whose officials allegedly gave FINANCIAL BACKING to the 9/11 attackers."

I absolutely believe some Saudi officials gave financial backing to the 9-11 terrorists.

I also don't believe Saudia Arabia is any real friend of the United States. Our two conntries are only friends of convenience.

However, I am wondering about people who want to push this story. To what end? Do you want to attack Saudia Arabia? Do you really think you are going to somehow expose Bush/Saudi connections? I mean the U.S. has been playing footsie with that Kingdom for years - both Democratic and Republican administrations.

Personally, I think Saudi Arabia is the root of modern Islamic terrorism. I believe we should tell the Saudi's to end their support, both financial and moral, of terrorists and religous extremists who preach hate against the West. I am also fully willing to support retaliating against Saudia Arabia if it can be proven that their government had any direct link to the 9-11 attacks.

My questions is, what do people who wish to expose the Kingdom's connection to 9-11 think? Is this Saudi connection only an issue here because folks think it could embarass Bush? Or do you actually want to do something specific about it?
