• "The Reagans," the movie that sparked a furor for its portrayal of Ronald and Nancy Reagan, airs 8 p.m. ET Sunday on Showtime. CBS canceled a scheduled Nov. 16 airing on its network after friends of the Reagans saw a preview and the movie's screenplay.
Alas, complains "Reagans" director Robert Ackerman, CBS executives "banned" him from the final cut of the film, implying that his director's cut would have been a lot tougher on the former First Family than the revision. Maybe someone can bring that up in the panel discussion Showtime will air 9 p.m. ET Monday about the "Reagans" controversy.
For those who would prefer a family-approved version of the 40th president's life, tune in when "Ronald Reagan: A Legacy Remembered" airs 9 p.m. ET Friday on A&E. Nancy, Ron and Michael Reagan, as well as Patti Davis, James Baker, Bushes 41 and 43 and a host of Reagan appointees help Frank Sesno with the storytelling.
