"When are the people going to wake up?" "How bad does it have to get?" "If the people just knew what we know..."
Apparently, it really does have to get worse before it gets better.
Every time Bush gets his way, it works against the people. And every time that happens, more people work against Bush. He screws the vets, and his poll numbers drop a little. He screws the reservists, and they drop a little more. Then he screws the seniors...
Little by little, the more people who feel the everyday effects of this administration, the better our chances get to get * outta there.
The economy is "improving" - and that's good for the economy, but we're all kinda wishing it wouldn't - for just a little longer. Whenever there's more bloodshed in Iraq, it's unfortunate, but we all know in the backs of our minds that it means one more strike against *.
So when it comes to the Medicare bill, the Energy Bill, the 87 Billion, why do we want to channel all of our rage on the "spineless" Democrats in congress? Doesn't each Republican win just mean that more people will see the real-life effects of these bad policies?
Is it possible that ending this session by letting the Republican controlled congress have their way will turn out to work in our favor? Do the Dems realize this & are using it as a strategy? Does Congress intentionally throw a few votes (more than a few) their way, so we can hold these guys accountable for the damage they continue to do? Maybe the DINOs are also the ones with the greatest job security back home... they can afford to vote against their party and let these horrible Republican bills pass.
If this is a conscious strategy, is it worth it? Will the fact that things are getting progressively worse really give us a shift in momentum in time for the General election? Can we live with ourselves if we don't fight these guys every step of the way, or is it better to - very soon - turn around and say "you had your chance to run things your way" and take inventory?
