James Carville's Rx For Democrats ~ A must see!
(snip)

"If you can't say the simple fact that they lied to get us in and have no idea how to get us out, then there's something wrong with America."

(snip)

Carville said Democrats "should not exaggerate the facts," but merely state and restate them. "They lied to get us in. They don't know how to get us out," he said. "How did they not know the country wasn't divided? How do you commit 150,000 troops with no plan to get out? All we have to do is remind people of that."

And....(snip)

"Recent political history shows Democrats win when they stand up and fight," Carville said.

This is a must see...

1. Good Article
You know...if Carville were this enthusiastic and well versed on Crossfire he would do alot better against the "bowtie-brainless" and "soon-to-be-CIA-dead-meat" that co-host the show.

That's why I watch it almost exclusively when Paul Begala is on....that boy can fight back.

3. Are you kidding me?
Maybe I've been away from Crossfire for too long, but I can recall shows where the top of Jim's head is bright red and it looks like he's about to fly over the desk, grab someone by the shirt collar, and say, "lookie here you little motherfucker."

IMO

5. I'm with you, 22.
He usually looks like he's about to stroke out when I see him making his points on Crossfire.

The ONLY time I see him holding back, though, is when He and Mary are on MTP. He treats her with more courtesy than anyone (as it should be, IMO).

2. Words to remember
"If you can't say the simple fact that they lied to get us in and have no idea how to get us out, then there's something wrong with America."

There must be an independent investigation not just of the White House's justifications for war, Carville said, but also the administration's plans for the occupation...

"If the case is we didn't have this thing thought out, that is a searing, stinging indictment of this administration -- we should not forget that..."

Recent political history shows Democrats win when they stand up and fight, he said.

6. Sigh....shut the hell up, Carville
Sure, NOW he wants Democrats to stand up and fight.

Before the 2002 Congressional elections, he put out a paper urging Democrats to stand with the President on the war. He railed against being 'too radical' -- "Support the President!", he cautioned. And now look at where we are. He should have left the garbage can on his head (if you saw the Crossfire right after the 2002 election).

Now with him working with the Venezuelan elite to depose Chavez, I don't need to hear anything further from him.

Even Dick Morris probably says some things that sound good now and then, but that doesn't mean he isn't full of sh*it as well.

I agree with the gist of his message here, but his delivery of it doesn't help.

which is how they do it every single time! The Republicans do the exact same thing.

I'm on the verge of giving up or ever hoping for change.

We are simply too easily to manipulate which explains why we're in the mess we're in.

Nothing will ever change in this country. I'm really afraid Nader was right. It's going to have to get worse before it gets any better- they'll have to have us on the brink of hunger- risking homelessness because the banks want their precious money back, before we catch on and say NO MORE.

Shit is going down-hill fast for both parties yet all they each have to do is send out a cheer-leader and there we are! Cheering and waving at the sidelines as if they had never fumbled, stumbled and sabotaged the entire game. Carville is as bright and entertaining as hell but damn he's just one of the mascots. Is that all it takes to get people happy so that we stop looking at what's really wrong? A few words? A little cheer-leading for the losing team?

Yes, we DO indeed deserve this government! I'm tempted to turn my back on the whole thing because this entire game has gotten
pathological. I despair that anything will ever change until the rug is yanked from under people's dining room tables.

14. We would certainly appear to stand up and fight if we hadn't have laid
down and played dead last September.

8. I liked this
"Right now what we need to do, now that they are starting to fight back, we need to give them encouragement," he said. "We have to show them they have support. We have got to learn the value of supporting our people."

11. This resonates with me.
And that lead to what Carville said was the big issue for Democrats in '04, what he called the Bush administration's reversal of "the generational promise of America -- each time we do what we can do to make the next generation better."

"That promise, today like no other time in our lifetime, is under attack," he said. "The idea that we are a society beyond our own self-interest is under attack. We are told America is best when people are interested in ourselves. We know America is better when we're based on a common interest.

"We have a president that is no longer interested in what happens to the next generation. We have a president that is no longer interested in what happens to the promise of America.

"I am telling you that there is so much at stake here. There is so much for us to fight for. There are so many people who don't want to give up the dream of generational promise.

We are betraying are kids. Stealing from them. Have been for 23 years. The right only cares about today and only about themselves.
