Why are candidates "approving" their messages
Everyone's doing it. During each ad they say "...and I approved this message because..." What is that about? Someone please enlighten me.

it's believed that by including this personal endorsement of the ad's content that the candidates will be less likely to go negative

3. BCRA (Bi-Partisan Campaign Reform Act)
Better known as McCain Feingold, dictates that any federal campaign ads must include that part at the end.
