If an enemy stormed our beaches, I would go down fighting.
And that's what the iraqi people are doing. If another nation decided to help us out with a regime change, no matter my utter hate and disgust with the dumb ass in the White House. I would pick up arms and fight back the invading bastards with all that I've got.

I would become a Guerilla warrior much like the farmers and peasants in the Iraqi desert and try to kill one or more a day to defend my countries sovereignty and my personal property.

I know that this may sound extreme to some folks here but that is what they are doing in Iraq, that is why our people are dying, day in and day out. Would you just stand by and watch the Chinese tanks roll down main street on patrol all day? Or would you fight? I would fight.

I would fight not for Bush, but for my country and it's sovereignty. You can kill Saddam and all of his family, it won't matter. The Guerillas are not Saddam loyalists, they are Iraqis.

Bring our troops home and let the Iraqi's forge their own future. just like we forged ours.

1. same here, they can dub me a "Bush loyalist" ALL they want... I don't care
and I would hope that even the most rabid anti-Clinton freeper would've done the same thing, had something like this happened in the 90's...

good luck getting them to admit it, though

you don't sound extreme to me, you are stating the basic human respionse to invasion. Common goddamned sense

2. That's why we lost in Vietnam.
The Viet Cong weren't fighting for Communism, they were fighting for their country and to get the foreigners out, first the French and then us.

4. And no amount of smart bombs or technology
can fight against a nation hell bent on defending it's soil. Guerilla tactics are brutal and effective.

3. That is not extreme. Any good American would do the same thing...
...in that situation. I would be fighting right next to you. To the death if need be.

7. Even if Canada...
decided to invade and occupy the US I'd be enraged. My nationalism button would be pressed and I'd do whatever it takes to get them the heck out!

Very true about Vietnam.
I see your point very clearly.

I love Canada.. I hope that some of that Liberalism up there rubs off on us down here. A little trickle down liberalism...lol.

16. Nice freeper fantasy
Unfortunately. like most freeper fantasies, it has no basis in reality. Some one's been reading too much Tom Clancy.

18. Talon - for a different perspective
and a Vietnam era woman who had plenty of relatives serve and none come home 'just right', I wonder how many of them thought the same thing as your author above when they were laying in those wet marshes of Vietnam?

You really had me going there for awhile, until the part about the 'lying bitch'.

21. I used to read the same kind of crap like this about how much the...
...Vietnamese loved us too. The only difference was instead of ragheads it was slopes. They loved the hell out of us too. Those shit pieces were never signed by anyone either. The more things change the more things stay the same. Pitiful.

22. It is sad
That the same rhetoric that was used to get us into and keep us in Vietnam is still being used today.

If anyone gets a chance, please watch "Path to war" on HBO. It is about the LBJ Presidency and Vietnam. It is excellent and insightful. You will see that the same arguments and propaganda used then are being used right now.

11. Interesting question.
Let's say Bush is Saddam, if we are to follow the same model. That means the enemy would have driven Bush out of Washington by now, and he is in hiding, or dead, maybe. So if the army invading us is an army of people, whose ideology we completely disagree with, we know we must get them out of our country. So actually we don't care a hoot about Bush, but we don't want these people to be our masters either.

If Bush is still in Washington, I think we would still fight, not for Bush, but to preserve our Constitution. So essentially nationalism would trump anyone trying to be our saviors. IMHO

24. Nationalism is a great thing
As long as it's not being pimped or watered down by flag waving SUVs. As long as it's honest and real, and not bullshit like racism etc.. A clear and present threat.

26. Actually I would do the same for any unelected leader of this country...
...whether it was Bush, Saddam or anyone else. Whomever it was they would be our problem to deal with when that time came. No one elses. Our enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend.

12. In reality
The Iraqis are not ferocious vengeance seeking fanatics, maybe less so than us. Festering ill will would always be there but the inertia and will to get on with life is surprisingly stronger than our dreams of heroic combat. Bushco of course is leaving them no such pleasant option. it intends to subjugate, exploit and destroy the culture, the people and all its institutions, rob it of its single disappearing resource and return the peons to fight each other in the desert with Christian converts dumber than our own thrown into the mix.

They may not want to get the picture but that is where the road is leading. That is where our ill considered military presence is mired and bleeding. But we are not supposed to see things that way over here.

Somehow this notion has escaped the majority of the American public. Actually it is not without precedent. When Twin Towers were destoyed, the public resorted to the flag waiving. These 'loyalists' were dubbed Patriots.

25. That's not patriotism
That's idiotic crod following. Waving the flag does not do a god damn thing when it comes to defending our country. In fact it is a lazy and apathetic act that demeans patriotism and nationalism.

15. Great-- I'm not as crazy as I thought
Now-all we need is some media person or politician to get their head out of their ass and ask this question.

Could it be possible that the Iraqis are responding to being invaded????

Jesusjumpedupchristinachariotdrivensidecar...is it that difficult for people to comprehend.

I've been yelling at my partner for weeks about this--

Why has everyone decided to swallow the load of bilious bollocksridden balderdarsh that Bush is belching forth?

Sorry--in an alliterative mood tonight

Keep asking that question!!!! Send letters to the editors!
