As in all our best TV series, the dead human body must be exhibited. The fascination for our own finitude and incomprehensible disparition must be titillated. This time, this is done to make a political statement which sends us back, literally, to the "dark ages", which, by the way and on the whole, cease to seem so dark in comparison. A dead human body is the irrefutable proof of victory, the shock and awe complacently and consciously manipulated to utilize our weaknesses. This little piece of news, this miserable military operation, this massive defeat of the human spirit, examplifies a degree of abjection rarely attained in history and celebrates the triumph of the group of very disturbed individuals who have managed to seize power in this country.
