New lie by Dumbyah 24 July 2003
Well, it happened again. For those that are chronicling the President's lies, I've posted this one.
Today in Livonia Michigan, Dumbyah visited Beaver Manufacturing, or Beaver Tool, or whatever they're named. Dumbyah pointed out that the tax cuts would result in a $75,000 savings for Beaver. He said that they were using that money to invest in researching new technology. He even said that if he worked for Beaver, then he would want them to be on the 'cutting edge' of technology.
A little while later, he again referred to the tax cut. This time, he said that Beaver had gone out and hired ten new employees with that tax cut money.
Let's do the math, shall we? Let's see... $75,000 divided by 10 employees comes to $7500 each. Wow, that's some salary "Mr. President". Let's do some more math. A full time job consisting of about 50 weeks of work at 40 hours per, comes to 2000 hours per year. At $7500 for those 2000 hours, those alleged new employees are earning $3.75 per hour. I'm positive it's not legal to pay your employees $3.75 per hour in Michigan. Heck, it's probably not even legal to pay them that in Texas.
After paying these new employees their $3.75 per hour, I'm wondering how much Beaver had left to spend on that research and development Dumbyah claimed they were also spending tax cut money on?
Then he went on to tell another fable, when he said that public corporations all across America are starting to pay dividends because of the dividend tax cut. That's very generous of corporate America to give us money for nothing. It looks like things are starting to trickle down.

3. I sure don't want anyone making $3.75 an hour restoring my ballscrews!
That's what this company does, for what it's worth . . .

When you send your ballscrews to Beaver for restoration, things go decidedly faster and are less costly. All restoration work is usually completed in about 10-15 working days, at about half the cost of a new unit.

5. Bush has no concept of what real people have to earn to get by
He's never had to think about money in his life, it's all just been shoveled at him by Poppy's friends. So naturally, he might actually think that you can pay ten workers with $75,000. 75 million, 75 thousand, it's all just words to him.

6. This idiot is the epitome of “low expectations”.
It’s so bad, no one expects him to have a clue about what he’s saying. He’s the leader of the free world? The entire world knows.

9. "Fuzzy math". Besides,
he isn't into details, you know. Math has too many details and pesky numbers and precise decimal points.

16. I'm not sure what the minimum wage is in Texas
I do know that they had a lower minimum wage (about $3.35 per hour) for people working in Texas, who weren't involved in interstate commerce, thus not being subject to the federal minimum wage laws.

14. Only one explanation:
Edited on Thu Jul-24-03 09:15 PM by WorstPresidentEver
Pretzeldunce Botch* is an idiot.

Jr.'s "work" experience consists of failing to find oil in Texas and telling dirty jokes at corporate board meetings until being asked to leave for being a waste of space. He probably thinks that $7500/yr is a good salary for the "little people".

(edited for spelling, grammar)
