Fox News airs JFK: Case Not Closed

Just ended.

They had on a doctor present at the JFK autopsy doing a demonstration in the Fox studio to show why he though the single-bullet theory was the 'biggest hoax perpetrated in the history of mankind.' Another doctor interviewed said the bullet found in Kennedy's brain is not the same type of bullet that could have been fired from Oswald's weapon. A parade of experts and witnesses interviewed on the show demolishong the government case.

Interesting program, leaning in favor of the conspiracy argument. Hosted by Greta van Susteren, herself a lawyer. Gerald Ford and Arlen Specter whom she inerviewed for the show were made to look like fools. Unfortunate for them, lawyers do tend to be interested in the facts.

1. Are they blaming this on Hillary or Bill, too?
Why am I not surprised?

Well, I AM surprised that they are going after Magic Bullet Man Arlen Specter, but then, he's been lying for 40 years about this...

2. Greta van Susteren.

There's at least one sane voice at Fox.

3. Are we in bizarro world?
Why the hell is FOX doing a story about this and ABC (home of avowed "Canadian Leftist" Peter Jennings) doing a puff piece defending the Warren report? Very odd bedfellows, methinkee....

14. especially since..
... the whole thing is unlikely to ever be 'solved' so it is risk free for Fox to run this.

13. My thoughts exactly.
I was telling a friend how the abc special is a farce and that it looks like faux is the only one questioning the insane theory of a single gunman. I am shocked that if I have to choose it would have to be faux. No one I talk to believes the "official" findings and most of us were not even alive then.

7. I missed it, but I'll bet it sounded a lot like Stone's version
... which is a bunch of horseshit:

8. C'mon, man, give it a rest.
How come the only posts I see from you are ones "bravely" taking the side of the establishment on matters of disputed, conspiracy-tainted history, when there are mountains of evidence to refute the establishment's conclusions? HMMMMM?

BTW, "Alien Autopsy" was obvious bullshit to anyone with eyes, so you and I agree on something at least....

15. Well, it must be either...
A) Because I'm part of the conspiracy, or B) because, when I take a good whiff, those "mountains" don't smell much like "evidence" to me. Did you read the link I posted?

Your comment about "taking the side of the establishment" probably reveals more than you intended. For a lot of people, it seems that rejecting "the establishment" is more important than discarding the horseshit evidence and illogical reasoning, and rationally evaluating the factual evidence that remains. You can see the same thing happening with UFO True Believers: the fact that "the establishment" says the UFO evidence is not convincing is just taken as more evidence that UFOs really do exist, since "the establishment" can't be trusted.

But you're making an invalid assumption about me: Accepting the main conclusion of the Warren Commission -- that Oswald was the lone gunman -- is not at all the same thing as rejecting the notion of a conspiracy, nor is it the same thing as complete approval of the Warren Commission's methods and findings. I think it was a botched job. But that doesn't justify accepting the kind of horseshit that Stone put in his movie. That just makes the True Believers look silly.

16. Oliver Stone's JFK
wasn't that far off base. There was a Willie O' Keefe who was a combination of three witnesses (they did that to fit it into a better amount of time for the film), the meeting with Mr. X (L. Fletcher Prouty) that occured during the movie actually occured afterwards and Stone found it so compelling he put it in. Those and the fact that Kevin Costner is better looking and a more compelling speaker than Jim Garrison was are the main arguments against the movie.

Considering how long the investigation took I think smacking the movie with a small shred of Hollywood to quicken the pace and get the same points that were made anyways across better were justified.

20. I guess you didn't read the link I posted?
Sorry, but I think Stone's deconstruction of the single-bullet theory is so "far off base" as to be ludicrous. And then to make it even worse, he repeats the nonsense that it's "absolutely curcial" to the lone-gunman theory. It is not, since it's known that Oswald fired three bullets. Read the link... with an open mind.

9. Don't know why Fox aired it
Edited on Mon Nov-17-03 02:52 AM by aeon flux
I was very surprised! Disclaimer at the beginning of the program that the evidence presented didn't conclude either way, however it was incredibly damning of the Warren report. Noting for example tha fingerprints on Oswald's alleged murder weapon was never even properly dusted to match his fingerprints, critical evidence that the FBI confiscated and never allowed investigators and doctors to examine(ie: JFK's brain), and a ton of other damning stuff I can't rememeber right now

Don't know why this would air on Fox, but looks like Susteren pulled some strings to get it on.

10. I wish Faux was as skeptical
about what's going on in our government today. They don't even want an investigation into 9/11, yet they just can't get enough of the JFK investigation.

12. There was NO bullet found in JFK's brain. There were fragments found...
...in the limo, and supposedly one complete bullet was found at Parkland in Dallas, but NO bullet was found in JFK's brain at the autopsy.

18. You're right

The doctor or ballistics expert they had on the Fox show referred specifically to the 'bullet fragments' in the brain being incompatible with a bullet fired from a military rifle.

If I remember correctly what the expert explained was that a round from Oswald's military-style weapon could not have produced the kind of bullet fragments found in Kennedy's brain.

19. Why did Fox do this? Well who benefited from JFK's murder?
LBJ of course, Fox never passes up an opportunity to bash a Democrat, especially when he is the architect of the evil "Great Society".

We will never know the truth.
