Why is "Odai is known as a womanizer" a bullet in the headline?
In my local paper's Top headline story today it carries that picture of the two brothers (Odai smoking a cigar). It has a grey box next to the photo with bullets about their crimes (which I mostly believe BTW).

However, under Odai Saddam Hussein it says:

- 39 years old
- Shot and wounded in 1996
- Has a reputation for brutality
- Known as a womanizer
- Headed the Iraqi Olympic Committee

Out of all the atrocities this guy has probably committed, why do they say "known as a womanizer?" That is the term repukes love to use against Clinton!! Are they trying to equate Clinton with Odai?

My understanding of a "womanizer" is a guy who screws around. I believe that Odai probably did horrible things like kidnap and rape, etc. to women. There is a big difference between adultery and rape.

This word association bothers me here in the south...

1. Write a letter-to-the-editor and point out that rape is a
crime way beyond merely womanizing and he should make a correction in the terminology as soon as possible.

However, I don't think it will matter...the damage is done so to speak.

7. He was a rapist and murderer. Perhaps he was also a "womanizer"
whatever that is.

8. You think "Womanizer" is worse than "Rapist?"
Like you don't know what a womanizer is.

I think it is wrong to say someone (known for rape from many reports) is a womanizer(Saddam son), while you hypocrtically say Clinton is a womanizer (who had consensual adult sex).

Get over it.

2. That's pretty amazing
Considering that the guy was half-paralized supposedly.

I wonder what parts were affected?

4. The Clinton angle
You nailed it ~ Odai was just another bad ole Billy Jeff Clinton and therefore deserved to die. Always keep in mind that all major media news in Amurka is geared towards the freepers. Anytime there's a Clinton angle, no matter how remote, it will be played.

11. He had a reputation as a "womanizer"
because he allegedly abducted and raped women on the streets of Baghdad. I read that he enjoyed spanking the soles of women's feet.

I don't believe his crimes you described are represented by "womanizing?" Do you?

13. I understand
He was in the habit of going to parties and picking out women that he wanted, especially young ones. Now, I don't know if you could properly refer to the use of power and intimidation to get sex as "rape" per se, but it certainly isn't laudable. Maybe that's what the article was trying to get at. I agree "womanizer" isn't very good, but I'm not sure I know the right term either.
