We have a serious problem folks. And it's not just a "Democrat" problem. The guy is psycho.

3. Cuz that's the kind of guy he is
Remember his beaming smugness when he got a chance to point out what would happen to the murderers of James Byrd during the debates? It was the one moment when he wasn't nervous, and he was tickled to be on sure ground for a while. Yes, killing is this man's business...

6. Because he's a shallow, thoughtless little man

I suspect part of him is gleeful that it's not HIM who's being punished.

And he's a bully -- have you noticed, most bullies get quite obnoxious if they think people approve of them playing the "enforcer". Which suggests that they are really quite insecure, and pathetically crave approval (sulking when it's withheld). That's our Bush.

"Earlier, Tucker Carlson of Talk magazine described the smirk Bush wore as he mimicked convicted murderer turned Christian Karla Faye Tucker begging, "Please don't kill me," something she never actually did."

14. that article points out something very important about his character
"He's so insouciant that he told a group of schoolchildren, "No, I didn't want to be President when I was little. I'm not even sure I wanted to be President when I was big, until recently.""

He will NEVER be "big" (in the "grown-up" sense) -- witness how he taunts his opponents, and has a difficult time empathizing with other people's tragedies.

I wonder whose responsibility it was for that?

I'm sure they could find some lowly DOD employee to pin the blame for the DUI arrest.

Such a bully with an inability to admit error or remorse.

9. Shittin and grinnin

President Bush (news - web sites), standing next to Deputy Defense Minister Paul Wolfowitz, smiles as he is photographed by a White House photographer in the Oval Office before speaking to reporters about Iraq (news - web sites) Wednesday, July 23, 2003 in Washington. President Bush on Wednesday hailed the deaths of Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s two sons as the clearest sign yet that 'the former regime is gone and will not be coming back.' 11. Don't forget the blowing up frogs
was one of his favorite things to do as a lad per a childhood friend.
Reminds me of an conservative ex-talk show host in Chicago who bragged about his son putting frogs in the microwave. He thought it was funny - laugh, laugh. He is a sick WOS too.

17. Asked and answered on DU several times.
As you know, this has been covered very well on DU (and should be available in DU1). Smirk is a sociopath -- Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Not only have several DUers (including myself) spotted this based on the criteria specified in DSM-IV, at least two qualified pshychologists have gone public with their opinion.

No, it's certainly not just a '"Democrat" problem'. As an antipartisan independent, I'm personally just not very interested in purely partisan "Democrat problems." When anyone puts a party above We the People, I'm not their ally. I'm a democrat, not a Democrat (or Green).

28. Actually, I don't believe so.

His confrontational facial gestures are designed to elecit a reaction, either compliant or appositional. He's looking at the "mirror" of the other person(s) and seeking to see in it (people are merely things to him) some confirmation that he even exists. The greater the reaction, the more he feeds on it and attempts to control it. This is the essence of narcissism. It is not, as some seem to think, ego. The arrogance and other projective habits are adopted to provoke a reaction. His absence of empathy is attributable to an absence of an conscious "self" -- he can have no integrity (it's preempted, so to speak) since he perceives his own existence as a fragmented collection of reflected images.

21. A defence technique of insecure people...
That "smile" while speaking is intended to win a smile from one's audience. An involuntary response of smiling back is interpreted as approval.
Those on guard, however, only see a smirk.

23. Because he's a sick, pathological sociopath
A dry drunk with delusions of grandeur, a poseur boy propped up by white reverse affirmative action, a tiny-penised madman overcompensating for having married a manslaughterer, the grandson of a Nazi money-launderer who had to have his property confiscated by the US government to stop him from aiding Hitler, and a pathetic hollow anti-christ of a man who is bent on aiding the coming of Armageddon.

I hope that helps.

24. He's a psychopath
The definition of someone with psychopathy (now Anti-social Personality Disorder in DSM4) is a person whose behavior does not account for the feelings or rights of other people. Another, more general way to say that is: someone who treats other living beings as things.

That's Smirk.

31. What do you think?
A lot of this has to do with the "alcoholic personality" Somebody else in this thread described it as a "dry drunk". Controlling and manipulative are standard traits in alcoholics.

Can anyone comment?

34. My co-worker was horrified at his debate comments
During the debates of 2000, the issue of hate crimes legislation came up, and there was inevitably a reference to the horrible murder of James Byrd in Texas. Bush enthusiastically brought up the fact that two men had been convicted of the crime and were sentenced to death. He said something like "And guess what's going to happen to them?" He bordered on the gleeful. It was disturbing.

Mark Crispin Miller, in "The Bush Dyslexicon," is one of the few writers to cover this episode with Bush. We had plenty of evidence going into this that he was really keen on having the power to kill and using it when he wanted.

People are being killed and our country is not in good shape at all. People are out of work and we have a fraudulent war going on right now.
Every time the Bush Crime Cabal speaks they act like they are doing a stand up comedy routine.

I am so SICK of them and each day it's becoming more embarrassing to be an American because of them.

How the hell can they joke and laugh at serious situations and no one questions it in the fake Media.
