Gore missed an opportunity, though
People on the main Gore speech thread were begging him to "tell us what to do."

Near the end of his speech, he should have listed two or three action points. He could have challenged us all to do some specific tasks, and channeled the fury and energy.

We're doing a lot of REACTING lately. We need to act. Strategically.

8. The problem
The problem with a unified message is defining the "our" and "we" in your post.

12. "Our message"? Just what is "our message"?
More importantly, what does "our message" have to do with a speech given by Al Gore who's message was about the Patriot Act and it's affect on our civil liberties? IMHO, Al, without the help of a "Karl Rove type" stayed right on HIS message! What's your point?

So sorry if he didn't give the speech YOU wanted to hear!

That speech worked for me.

4. Gore didn't miss it
Did you hear the call to keep on Congress to repeal the 'Patriot' Act?

This demand for perfection and hasty critcism of excellence is irksome. I understand there are NUMEROUS difficulties in which we find ourselves and ALL need resolution, but sometimes we can just be grateful for what is, essentially, a gift to us.

7. Give it a freakin' rest!

First off, I don't think Al was reading the thread during the speech!
Secondly, he succinctly and eloquently hit more points against the current cabal than ALL of the 'candidates' combined in a speech lasting over an hour! Remember, HE'S NOT RUNNING! It seems that more people here either don't or won't support a draft to get him to run so why do you feel he's responsible for telling ANYONE what to do? Perhaps you should ask that of your chosen candidate! :eyes:

It seems to me it's those who are running that missed the opportunity to give that speech!

Draft Al Gore in '04 :)

Edited for spelling! D'oh.

10. What is there to do?
Other than vote Bush out of office in 2004? I don't see that we have a lot of power.
