Pvc Lynch, hero?
This is not an attack on poor Jessica. She's a victim of Rove's Propaganda Juggernaught. Her triumphant homecoming was a disgrace to every casualty of Operation Iraq Liberation. It's not her fault. I think she's a lovely young woman and I'm sure she's as brave as can be.

What did she do to deserve a Bronze Star? Did she charge a machine gun nest? Pull her comrades out of the range of enemy fire? The political motivations are so obvious as to be painful. Awarding her the Bronze Star cheapens that medal for every brave soldier who actully deserved one.

1. not a word of dissent on this issue is said
I guess it would be unpatriotic. It sure does cheapen the Bronze Star.

3. I have a CIB
for serving in VietNam. I wasn't a hero. Just some grunt walking in the jungle, hoping I wouldn't get killed.

5. How about the Distinguished Flying Cross given to B-1 bomber crew?
They were given a medal for valor for blowing up a restaurant and wiping out an entire Christian family in Baghdad in another botched attempt to kill Saddam.

That's worse than the Bronze Star to Pvt Lynch!

It is also clear that Bush decided long ago that Saddam is not to be captured. The last thing the Bush regime wants is Saddam on trial talking about the WMD he got from Ronald Reagan.

Once Saddam is gone, the Iraqis will have only the US to hate!

4. I would never blame her
She seems to be All-American girl next door caught up in the grinding action of of Bush's propaganda and war machinery. She survived that and for that I'd give her a medal... maybe not the Bronzed Star. A farce is a farce even if the war is involved.

6. I've always wondered
when Shoshanna, the African-American woman from Texas who was taken POW is going to have her homecoming televised on all the cable networks.

Or did I miss it?

9. after the pounding the Pubs took in recent days, they were very hungry for
some POZ news thingy on the TV

Ms Lynch will become a very rich person it seems. If she does, so be it. Its not her fault, its her good fortune.

Madness rules, God help us, or is it too late.??

Yesterday they pre empted some good shows, for this staged event
nothing against jessica lynch, but she is not a hero, her supposedly
"rescue" was a staged event for the bush administration,
I do not want my shows pre empted to see her speak , when she could
do that on the 6PM news.
A Hero is a firefighter, policeman, anyone in World War 2, Korean conflict, Vietnam

12. She did nothing.
Quite honestly that's the truth. She did her job, I am glad we have people willing to do that job, but that is all she did. You don't get medals for jsut doing your job...or you shouldn't. Reality is somewhat different in the military these days.

14. The Bronze star is a slap in the face of those that earned it.
This is really terrible. She was unconscious for god's sake. She didn't do anything to warrant it. Also who paid for the Chopper back to her home town? Rove? Everyone else gets to take a bus, train or plane. Just more propaganda.
I'm a Vietnam Vet. Lots of really deserving people didn't get Bronze stars. It seems now though they give them for showing up.
