'it's not in our culture to show dead bodies on t.v.'
that's what a guy said on cnn, we really shouldn't show the gruesome photos of saddam's little boys as proof that they are indeed dead.
seems strange to me. we can kill thousands of people, but our culture doesn't show the horror on t.v. bullshit excuse. plus they said the two little boys had been in 'disguise' when they were killed to silence them. how sick IS our culture? we don't mind killing folks, but we are too sensitive to actually see the dead. gimme a great big fucking break!

1. It used to be
Vietnam, WWII (movietone)

I remember plenty of dead bodies on the nightly news during Vietnam. At least then we were honest enough with ourselves to look our killing straight in the eye, so to speak. Now, we still want to kill, we're just squeamish about it.

3. Perhaps they really did kill them, just like they said
but I can't believe anything this administration says. They have a practice of telling lies when it's convinient for them.

In disguise, yeah what the hell does that mean? What kind of disguise can you wear after you are dead? Do they mean surgery?

I think if we as a nation kill these people, we have the responsibility to look at what we have done.

6. CNN, thy name is Ho!
It is 'in our culture' to show precisely anything on TV that will:

A. Make a buck
B. Increase ratings

At least, those were the basic options until Election Theft 2000. After that, CNN added:

C. Make the Chimp look good. (And its converse: keep everything off TV that makes the Chimp look bad.)

You may be sure that if this were Clinton's war, it would suddenly be very much 'in our culture' to show the dead bodies on TV. And the graphic would read Clinton Body Count.

Burn in hell, CNN.

:grr:

7. Self-righteousness
I don't think it's the squeamishness about violence that we have developed in our culture. Instead it's something more fundamental - self-righteousness. We must suppress anything that might reveal that what we want to believe is wrong, that what we do is bad, or that might make us feel guilt. It's a vicious cycle of circular reasoning: self-righteousness says that self-righteousness is right. Therefore the ends awlays justify the means. We can take credit for anything good, and blame others for everything bad. The Republican party is in power now because they have become the party of self-righteousness. Supporting them just feels good. The Democrats are then left to be nothing but contrarians, nay-sayers, and spoil-sports.

This is not going to change unless the entire populace gains a significant amount of IQ points, or at least until we have a leader who values the truth far more than pandering.

8. Don't they mean "not in our Reichskultur"?
Please. One simply cannot keep up with the bleating of Orwell's sheep and the lies of the many Comrade Squealers employed by the Busheviks.

As usual, they ae going to get away with it. There are simply too many people spewing too many lies to even counter a fraction of them.
