Someone explain this to me wrt to Stock Market and Saddam's sons.
I can't tell you how many times I heard yesterday and this morning that yesterday the stock market rallied on the news that Itchy and Scratchy were dead (never can remember their real names).

Can someone explain to me why their deaths suddenly made stocks look like a good investment, because I don't see the connection.

2. There is hope for the oil fields
At least, that's the buzz :eyes:--any lessening of the Iraqi resistance will mean oil flowing.

3. There is no connection!
Right now, any news that isn't bad will give the market a temporary bump but the market is not an indicator of the economy. John Snow said that the death of Itchy and Scratchy (love your names for them) helps the economy, say what???? Hmmm, the Hussein bros, IF it is even them, must have swallowed the perported WMDs and left their vast fortune to the US!

To put it succinctly, rubbish!

4. Iraq invasion has created instability in the business world
and the not knowing of how long? how many deaths? how much longer are we gonna have to suck in our belts for the war effort... :eyes:. Businesses hate, hate, all that uncertainty. Witness the jobless recovery.

The deaths of Uday and Qusay yesterday, maybe sorta put a cork in it. Remains to be seen if that's actually true.

5. anything that reduces uncertainty...
is good for investments...The market HATES uncertainty. I guess they think that the news of the death will demoralize the opposition fighters even more, bringing the amount of fighting down or something.
