Rice should RESIGN NOW! Exposed as LIAR by CIA
Rice got the 2nd memo, released by the CIA and not the White House, according to the Washington Post today along with Hadley.

Proves her "bowels of the agency" remark was a flat out lie.

Bush Aides Disclose Warnings From CIA
Oct. Memos Raised Doubts on Iraq Bid
By Dana Milbank and Walter Pincus
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, July 23, 2003; Page A01

The CIA sent two memos to the White House in October voicing strong doubts about a claim President Bush made three months later in the State of the Union address that Iraq was trying to buy nuclear material in Africa, White House officials said yesterday.

The second memo, dated Oct. 6 and sent to Hadley and Rice, was brought to the White House's attention yesterday by the CIA, the officials said. In response to another draft of the speech that had already deleted the uranium reference, the memo included fresh CIA objections to the charge, saying there was "weakness in the evidence" and that the attempted purchase "was not particularly significant," Hadley said.

2. What SHE said
June 8, 2003 on Meet the Press:

"We did not know at the time -- no one knew at the time, in our circles -- maybe someone knew down in the bowels of the agency, but no one in our circles knew that there were doubts and suspicions that this might be a forgery. Of course, it was information that was mistaken. "

June 8, 2003 on This Week:

"George, somebody, somebody down may have known. But I will tell you that when this issue was raised with the intelligence community... the intelligence community did not know at that time, or at levels that got to us, that this, that there were serious questions about this report. "

On May 17, 2003:

"As you might imagine... a lot of things are prepared within agencies. They're distributed internally, they're worked internally. It's unusual that anything like that would get to the president. He doesn't recall seeing anything. I don't recall seeing anything of this kind."

6. Why should they be?
They tried to do their jobs.

What was Cheney doing during his numerous visits to CIA? Isn't that just a tad unusual for a Vice President to be going to CIA and pressuring analysts??

Some Iraq Analysts Felt Pressure From Cheney Visits

By Walter Pincus and Dana Priest
Washington Post Staff Writers
Thursday, June 5, 2003; Page A01

Vice President Cheney and his most senior aide made multiple trips to the CIA over the past year to question analysts studying Iraq's weapons programs and alleged links to al Qaeda, creating an environment in which some analysts felt they were being pressured to make their assessments fit with the Bush administration's policy objectives, according to senior intelligence officials.

5. Rice is not a fact checker, neither does she read her memos
Hadley reads all her memos for her and he just plain forgot

Its only nuclear weapons after all, Rice has more important priorities

12. I think you've got that right
This bunch is so morally certain that they DON'T read those pesky CIA memos.

Let's face it, we've all met those true-believer wingnuts who "know" what they "know," and no amount of facts and attributions will penetrate the cement and make them realize that perhaps somebody has lied to them about a few wee details.

That is the real danger of this bunch of thugs, lunatics, and corporate scamsters. They "know," you see, and nothing any pointy-headed expert tells them will affect their plans.

We've GOT to get rid of them. Period. I just hope they'll respect the results of an election.

8. I bet when....
...Condi was in school, she was the type of kid who waved her hand in the air, as the bell rang and said "teacher...you forgot to give us homework."

I think she knew it was wrong, and wouldn't have allowed it if she weren't such a good teacher's pet...always wanting to please her authority figures. On NBC yesterday, they said that Hadley turned in his resignation, but Bush wouldn't accept it. Weird....he should be screaming at these people if they are to blame. But instead he is so forgiving and supportive...which tells me that HE is to blame...or Cheney.

21. It's part of the act
All these people pretending to offer to resign (or at least floating rumors of such) is just a huge farce. It's just a giant spin machine designed to:

1. Deflect attention and responsibility from the real culprit - Bush*.
2. Let Bush* appear "compassionate" by "forgiving" them.

It's like when they were talking about the warnings before 9-11, and she said "No one had ever suspected that someone might try to fly a plane into a building before 9-11."

16. Resign? Lying is a badge of honor for Republicans, why would she leave?
I mean, if a Republican were held to the same standards they preached, they'd all have resigned and been imprisoned under Reagan, or maybe even Nixon. What's so unusual about a Republican lying, or getting caught lying, or getting away with lying? If you told me Republicans didn't eat or go to the bathroom I might believe you, but if you ever say one of them told the truth, I'd know you were wrong. Lying is what makes them who they are. Condi deserves recognition, not resignation, in their eyes.

17. What if it were Clinton?
Such a useful Zen sort of tool. Clinton's NSA says something irretrievably stupid about planes being used as weapons. Or goes on the Timmy's Excellent Pukefest and claims not to have seen anything. What would the presstitutes be doing? What would the blast faxes out of RNC be shouting from the rooftops? What grand jury information would federal prosecutors be leaking?

Right now, Milbank and Pincus are pulling some real lonely duty, and there's no guarantee that the parade will suddenly turn around and they'll be at the head of it. But the story's getting out there. It's up to us to shove it under the noses of lazy journalists so they can't just ignore it.

20. It doesn't work that way sadly...
You have to start down below and work your way up. Just trying not to overreach - yes I AGREE Chimp should resign.

But that's a laughable suggestion at this point given the chain of command and paper trail is only just beginning to be established.

We need CONGRESSIONAL HEARINGS and to get these bozoz under OATH!

22. Does lying really matter that much?
Looking at their track record, I think one could find several members of the Bush administration who should resign. Especially since some of them lied, as evidence shows each day. There are some proven lies already since and concerning 9/11 (e.g. "nobody thought about using planes as weapons"; the hearings of the independent commission prove otherwise).
The problem is that a big part of the population does not seem to be annoyed by the fact that they have been lied to about that war ("Saddam was evil, the poor people are liberated now (are they?), so this 16-word-mistake in that speech is not so important; after all intelligence people are humans...").
Interestingly, they were annoyed when lied to by Clinton about Lewinsky.
As long as many people are not disgusted by these many lies, it will take some time until the clan will fall.
At least the media began to ask some questions about the war (that are indeed overdue).

23. Honestly, I don't think people are AWARE of the lies
Until the headline is "___ Lied about ___," a lot of people don't have the time or patience to read between the lines like we do here - a ot of people HATE politics and think all of this is just that.

If more people were aware of the actual lies, they'd be outraged as we are, IMO.

24. SO ANGRY
So:

1. The White House LIES about this information for weeks.

2. The White House is exposed by CIA to have memos at the highest levels about the information.

3. White House forced to admit that the person below Rice got 2 memos and she got one. She lied to the country about the information never getting out of the "bowels" of the agency.

4. Media ignores the STORY!!!!!!!
