Is this TREASON or what?
In an apparent attempt to get back at Ambassador Wilson for his editorial calling Bush a LIAR regarding the Niger Uranium claim by Bush, the Administration leaked to the press that the Ambassador's wife is a CIA operative.

Isn't identifying spies, especially "in a time of war", a treasonable act Punishible by death? Why is the media so silent on this. It is amazing Bush is running completely on anti-terror and homeland security yet "outs" an American CIA spy to punish her husband!!!
WTF!

This Administration is on the verge of complete collapse, they don't care whose life they put in jepoardy to save Bush's cowardly ass.

When does impeachment proceedings begin?

7. White House striking back?

Former ambassador charges mudslinging over statements

WASHINGTON, July 21 — They were just 16 words in the State of the Union address — words that we now know were misleading. And this man, retired career diplomat Joe Wilson tried to warn the administration of just that nearly a year before the speech.

NOW IN AN NBC News exclusive, Wilson says his family is the subject of a smear campaign. Wilson tells NBC News the White House deliberately leaked his wife’s identity as a covert CIA operative, damaging her future career and compromising past missions after he criticized the administration on “Meet the Press” and in the New York Times.

He told me, “It’s a shot across the bow to those who might step forward, those unnamed analysts who said they were pressured by the White House for example would think twice about having their own families names being dragged through this particular mud.”

4. probably not treason
but very well could be and looks to be a crime punishable by a 50k fine and 10 years in prison.

there are lots of threads on the Wilson/Plame issue here with links, btw.

5. aaargh
This would be really terrible except for the fact that she wasn't a spy. She was part of a domestict task force on WMDs, and her identity was about as secret as George Tenet. This rumor was started by Paul Krugman who more than any other liberal columnist drives me batty because he seems constitutionally incapable of writing an article without at least one blatant lie/error in it. And the freepers just murder him over it. Even if he has a solid argument for something he just has to add that little extra kick from some total lie/error. aaaaaaaaargghh!

6. Newsday says otherwise
Intelligence officials confirmed to Newsday yesterday that Valerie Plame, wife of retired Ambassador Joseph Wilson, works at the agency on weapons of mass destruction issues in an undercover capacity - at least she was undercover until last week when she was named by columnist Robert Novak.

8. I'm afraid the word 'treason' does apply in this situation....
....unlike when it is bandied about in reference to anti-war protesters engaged in their Constitutionally protected right to protest! :(

If you check the Latest Breaking News forum you will find several threads devoted to this issue. ( you may have to search through a few pages! )

Welcome to DU! I hope you have a 'thick skin' and are prepared to back up your unsubstantiated claims like, "he seems constitutionally incapable of writing an article without at least one blatant lie/error in it." and "Even if he has a solid argument for something he just has to add that little extra kick from some total lie/error." because here you will get called on it! :)

Oh and by the way, Do you have a link to prove your claim?
"aaargh"

11. Busheviks are VERY comfortable with treason
The same way Caeser and Marcos were.

The Busheviks believe THEY are Amerika (and they are...the Imperial Family of Amerika) and the rest of us exist to serve them.
Therefore, if a Bush or Bushevik commits what is by definition, treason, it isn't treason, because how can a member of the Imperial Family commit treason.

They ARE the State, after all.

"Which will be preserved. Our Rome...or the mob's."

There, in a nutshell is what we face. They've been committing treason for quite some time now. Even when the Busheviks were a small cabal within the Nixon Crime Family.

1968 -- Sabtaging the AParis Peace talks
1973 -- Watergate
1980 -- The OctoberSurpirse
1980-1987 Iran-Contra

Oh, I'm sure there's more. Remember, in their own minds, a Busheviks cannot perform treason because they are Amerika.

You want to know how monsters can live with themselves?

Like Hitler, Stalin, Marcos, Milosevic...
