Let's not forget Pfc. Lori Piestewa...
I'm really the last guy who would wave the flag needlessly and get worked up into a jingoistic frenzy. But on this day of Pfc. Lynch's media-saturated homecoming, my mind keeps going back to Pfc. Lori Piestewa.

Piestewa, 23, a member of the Hopi Tribe, was killed when her support convoy was ambushed near Nasiriyah in Iraq on 3/23/03. She was a single mother with a son, 4, and a daughter, 3.

This prescient piece was written back on April 10:

"...Lynch will come home to West Virginia on crutches, to the waving of American flags; Piestewa will return to the reservation in a coffin draped in an American flag."

1. Yes, Americans do need to be reminded
that the blood of this Native American was needlessly spilled by the pretender in the Oval Office for revenge for his father and the oil greed of his sponsors.

AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND STARTS SCHOLARSHIP TO BENEFIT FEMALE INDIAN VETERANS AND CHILDREN OF ARMY PFC. LORI PIESTEWA

The scholarship will go toward any remaining unmet financial needs for college that her children have when they become college age, after taking into account other scholarships that have already been established for them. Any remaining funds will be used to underwrite an annual scholarship to a tribal college or university for a female American Indian military veteran.

4. I noticed that Ms. Lynch made a special point of saying ...
... how much she missed Lori Piestewa, saying what a good friend she was and how much she admired her. Her voice sounded a lot more certain during that part of the speech -- as if she felt that was more important than the rest of it.

6. the PHX affiliate didn't even mention that Lori was from AZ
Never said that Lori was from Arizona! Not even once!!!

He repeated Jessica's words...that she missed Lori....

and with a perfect opportunity to repeat again that she was the first N Am woman to be killed in the war...not to mention she was from the peaceful people...the Hopis...

Once again...the Indigenous People on this continent get the short end .....

ABC in PHX is so corporate owned & pro war...I can't stand to listen to them!!!

Peace.....soon.....please
