or are Dean supporters like an army of Moonies? (and I don't mean in the religious or philosophical sense, I mean like a relentless army of single-minded zealots).

Every poll on DU with a list of candidate's names will get a couple of dozen clicks on "Dean" within a minute of the original posting, even if that response is only marginally relevant to Dean.

I like almost all of the Dem candidates, including Dean, and will vote for whomever the Dems nominate, but it's gotten to the point where one needs to at least mentally "undean" every poll.
edit: sorry, premature "post"

2. uh, those are your allies you're bashing there
Don't get me wrong; I'm sure that your intent was completely constructive, but you presumably are looking forward to working later on with the same people you're comparing now to Moonies.

Right?

5. god forbid
anyone get passionate about politics. Now we have KUCINICH supporters of all people comparing us to religious zealots. Hey, I like the Polyphonic Spree, too, so where's the Kool Aid?

12. I agree the post is harsh...
but I think he is referring to the 'Dean can do no wrong' attitude.
Most recently the 'dishonest' TV ad being an example. I think I saw only one Dean supporter here admit that the ad was wrong.

11. Oh yeah
I don't see a couple dozen clicks on "Dean" on a poll with a list of candidate's names in this poll

13. I think the Moonies would take offence at the comparison.
With good reason, in some cases. :)

15. I'm locking this thread.
This is a broad-brush smear against all the supporters of one candidate.
