1. How can they claim it...Oh that's easy
They are obviously believing their own bullshit. I guess in order to try to get us to believe it they have to eat a whole chunk of it as well.

2. I once heard a person commenting on NPR on iraq...
He said "sure we'll report the good things.... so this week a school opens up.... we report it WHEN it happens. Everyday troops die, and we report that WHEN it happens. What are we supposed to do? Say: Well three more american soldiers died today, but remember last week when that school opened up?"

He had a good point

15. Some Elements of Tet, But Not Quite Tet Revisited
It has elements of the Tet offensive but not the overall design.

These attacks are nearly all isolated to the Sunni-dominated part of north-central Iraq known as the "Sunni Triangle" in recent parlance.

Tet was a general offensive across the width and breadth of the entire Republic of Vietnam.

It is troubling to note the expansion of attacks outside of the "Sunni Triangle," though, particularly in the Kirkuk area.

6. Bush says the attacks are a sign of desperation.
What kind of logic is that? If the Iraq resistence gets any more "desperate" they're going to take the country back from us.

8. progress in Iraq=increased attacks on Americans
a quote from CNN.com today:

"There are terrorists in Iraq who are willing to kill anybody in order to stop our progress," Bush said. "The more success we have on the ground, the more these killers will react -- and our job is to find them and bring them to justice."

So, as you can see, attacks on Americans in Iraq are directly proportional to the success of the Bush regime. Since the Bush regime has been making so much progress lately in Iraq, it makes perfect sense that attacks on Americans are increasing as well!

If anyone can explain this through some sort of sound logic or mathematical formula, please let me know. I don't understand Mr Bush's "fuzzy logic". I'm incensed he is attempting to dismiss the increased attacks and loss of life as a consequence of progress.

13. Sure...
"The success of Operation Iraqi freedom is directly proportional to the number of terrorist attacks directed at civilians and our troops within the country." S = bA + c or A = (S - C)/b
Of course the oddest consequence of this idea is that if the attacks ever stopped, the operation would be a massive failure.
