Lieberman supporters?
Are there any actual Lieberman supporters on DU? I've seen many supporters of all other candidates, just not a single "rah rah Joe" post. Just wonderin...

2. What do you think?
Supporting Lieberman makes me think of the old joke about moderates demonstrating... "What do we want!...." "Gradual Change!" "When do we want it?...." "In due course!"
He's hardly the most inspiring guy, is he?

3. Poor Joe Lieberman
In a way, I feel truly sorry for the Senator. He had a nearlyu impeccible record in the Senate and was regarded by people on both sides of the aisle as honorable and trustworthy. Then he made the mistake of becoming al gore's running mate and he had to disavow nearly everything he had ever stood for. Now, he is trying to reclaim his tarnished image, but I fear it is too late for him. Too bad...of the 9 announced candidates (we know Hillry is #10), he would have probably been the best choice.

5. Poor Joe
Sorry, sometimes I think he just doesn't belong in our party when he talks about Democratic policies as "failed policies of the past."

What have you been doing as a policymaker for all these years Joe? If you've been making Democratic policy, too bad it must have been "failed." If you haven't, you must be a republican...

10. I was just wondering
if Lieberman had any support on DU since I'm new here. I sure as hell don't support him, and pretty much no one here in Iowa does either.

11. I'm a Lieberman supporter
No, I really can't stand the guy, but what the hell, I'm bored and Joe looks lonely, so I'll give it a shot. Here's my spirited defense of Lieberman:

-He'll work for peace in the Middle East, hand-in-hand with Sharon, who is also a man of peace.

-If contentious debates make you uncomfortable, Lieberman is the only clear choice. He was very kind to Dick Cheney during the 2000 VP debate. After all, he works with Cheney's wife to blacklist unpatriotic college professors. I'm sure he'll extend the same graciousness to Bush during the Presidential debate, and none of us will need to be uncomfortable.

-He'll represent ALL of America with his appointments; not just Democrats, but conservatives too. He's already stated that he'll ask John McCain to be his Secretary of Defense, and I personally think he'll reach across the aisle and name Frist, DeLay, Zell Miller, and David Duke to cabinet-level positions.

-There won't be any need to spend lots of time and money retooling our foreign policy and making amends all over the world. He can just pick up where Bush leaves off and we can continue fighting glorious wars all over the globe.

As a new Lieberman supporter, I'm coming up short on more points, but give me time and I'll try to crank out some more.
