Crazy r-wing email (need help responding)

Ok folks, I'm asking for help or advice here.

This kind of stuff drives me nuts. Someone sent this to me who said a conservative friend sent it to them.
Looks to me like some kind of newsmax or similar r-wing garbage, none-the-less the monkeys are passing this all around.

I wrote a short response, but I don’t think its good enough and wanted to get some input from you folks.

I am listing the original first and then my short reply is below.

Any suggestions or comments about a better reply would be much appreciated,

Best!
Kelley

You people amaze me to no end.

So celebrities are not 'allowed' to have any free speech?

What about Arnold? He is a huge 'celebrity' and you have no problem with that do you.

Hypocrites

You know, I'm so old I can remember when if someone didn't like what your opinion was all you had to say was .. "Its a free country"

Well, people like you are doing all you can to change that, aren't you?

Are you for free speech or not?

Are you for freedom?

Tell me this.. when all our brave troops get through fighting and dying to 'free' the people of Iraq ...

Does that mean they have fought and died for their right for you to tell them to shut the hell up??

1. Good line about "when all our brave troops get through . . . "
I always like to try to point out to such people that only the weak NEED a sterile environment to survive.

Their efforts reveal how vulnerable they are.

There's so much frickin' ignorance in that article I just stopped reading. I can't stand that shit.

4. Get the actual definition for "HATE SPEECH"
and send it to them.

Seriously, there is a definition for 'hate' speech, and speaking out against a govt and one's leader is NOT hate speech. You can give examples of what hate speech would be. Like if they spewed speech about 'the bastard methodist' prez...and the such.

the whole rant is about HATE SPEECH. They didn't even definite it as free speech. Don't let them get away with really poor use of semantics, which, over time, these friggin freepers have changed the real meaning of words, such as LIBERAL!

5. The rw email won't make any difference
No wingnut would go to a Penn or Robbins movie anyway. Esp. Robbins, who the right has hated for years. Only fringe nuts would be scared away from a CLINT EASTWOOD film by that.

6. GOP Contributor Wal-Mart Busted Using 300 Ilegal Aliens
Suggest the emailer boycott Wal-Mart for hiring 300 illegal aliens and ask the emailer if it is republican policy, as Wal-Mart is a big contributor to the republican party to, hire 100s of illegal alien workers instead of Americans.

Edited on Sat Oct-25-03 02:11 AM by corarose
Shit can you imagine how it would be to constantly be reminded of how someone in your family died and you wanted to try and get past it but you kept getting it shoved down your throat by right wingers.

Right wingers will never stop using 9/11 as a scape goat for anything that they want to further their agenda on.

9. What about the attacks on 2000.. The millennium?
Do you remember those terrible attacks?

No you don’t!

Because they never happened.

President Bill Clinton stopped those attacks!

Just like he is the only president who ever caught a world trade bomber and prosecuted them under the law, and put those terrorists in prison where they belong.

How ya like them apples?!

8. Tell him to shut the fuck up...
...and quit wasting your time fucking with you and acting like a fascist bully-boy punk-ass. They know about free speech, they know about freedom, they know the fine points of the issues. They're not stupid. They just do this to fuck with you and ignore you. Tell him this is horse shit. Shit like this is just like when a kid wants to ignore someone and put thier hands over their ears and go "la la la la I can't hear you!"

Don't beg for him to understand freedom and all that. He already does. Otherwise he wouldn't do this dumb-ass shit to try to get around it. Let him know it's stupid to think you don't know what he's doing.

Fuck him.

Golly, I'd better not go see that movie. Why do you feel the need to respond? People who are this crazed with such ridiculous beliefs will not be affected in the least. They don't think; they just absorb and spew. I'd doubt their existence if my mother wasn't one of them.

11. This Is Gonna Be A Couple Responses
when I'm bored I like to hit various message boards and have some canned responses I save for moments like this. one thing is liberals (us) spend too much time debating semantics and ANSWERING questions. we have the moral authority in this argument and THEY are the guilty ones. does a criminal make the prosecutor answer questions? absolutely not. so instead, make them accountable for their actions. heres a couple responses. the first is a line of rapid fire questions with links to support them. the second is an example of how the GOP turns the cheek to the real sponsors of terror, saudi arabia, and their hypocrisy of supporting bush despite him being business partners with the very same people who sponsor terror. first one

what is the war in iraq about?
its not about WMD. the report from david kay has been indefinately shelved http://sify.com/news/international/fullstory.php?id=13250836
its not about 9/11 and al quaida, since bush just told you its not about it http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030918/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush_saddam_8
its not about saddam sponsoring terror, he gave 25k to families of suicide bombers, meanwhile bush's own business partners actively finance hamas and al quaida, and rape and torture people
http://www.hrw.org/wr2k3/mideast6.html http://www.judicialwatch.org/1685.shtml
we know its not about the taliban and al quaida, bush has had no problems supporting them in the past
"Enslave your girls and women, harbor anti-U.S. terrorists, destroy every vestige of civilization in your homeland, and the Bush administration will embrace you. All that matters is that you line up as an ally in the drug war, the only international cause that this nation still takes seriously. That's the message sent with the recent gift of $43 million to the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan, the most virulent anti-American violators of human rights in the world today. The gift, announced last Thursday by Secretary of State Colin Powell, in addition to other recent aid, makes the U.S. the main sponsor of the Taliban and rewards that "rogue regime" for declaring that opium growing is against the will of God. So, too, by the Taliban's estimation, are most human activities, but it's the ban on drugs that catches this administration's attention.
Never mind that Osama bin Laden still operates the leading anti-American terror operation from his base in Afghanistan, from which, among other crimes, he launched two bloody attacks on American embassies in Africa in 1998."
http://www.robertscheer.com/1_natcolumn/01_columns/052201.htm
we know its not because saddam had mass graves from 1988, when reagan and the GOP actively armed and supported him (picture worth a thousand words: ) http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/08/18/national/main519036.shtml
we know its not because saddam was a threat to his region, since even turkey scoffed at the war, the saudis could care less, the only people who were really worried was the fundamentalist theocracy of kuwait. http://www.hrw.org/wr2k1/mideast/kuwait.html
we know its not because saddam was an imminent threat, he would need WMD to do that, not balsa drones that fell apart. “But the fact remains that Iraq has not attacked the United States, nor has Bush presented the American people with any specific, credible evidence that Hussein is linked to the September 11 terrorist attacks. So launching a war against Iraq is unnecessary for self-defense, and therefore totally unjustifiable.” http://www.lp.org/press/archive.php?function=view&record=626
we know its not because of UN resolutions, which are the decision of the security council to enforce how the security council sees fit by THEIR guidelines and the UN Charter. the same charter bush violated. http://www.un.org/Docs/sc/unsc_functions.html http://www.un.org/aboutun/charter/

so what was it about again?

12. And The Second Part, Bush and the Saudis
Through charities and schools, youth groups and private foundations, Saudi oil money has been deployed on a colossal scale to finance organisations such as al-Qa'eda and Hamas. Thus did Saudi Arabia emerge as the matrix of Islamist terrorism.

While evidence of Saudi support for terrorists has accumulated from intelligence and other sources, one expert analysis that appeared a few months ago has confirmed American doubts about Riyadh's attitude to terrorism. Hatred's Kingdom (Regnery) by Dore Gold, the former Israeli ambassador to the UN, provides documentary proof of close links between Saudi oil money and the jihad against the West.

Gold shows how the tentacles of terror that extend into Africa, Asia, Europe and America are nourished by propaganda, personnel and resources from official Saudi charities that are emanations of Wahhabism.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml?xml=/opinion/2003/07/22/do2201.xml

In the wake of Judicial Watch and other criticism of its ties to the bin Laden family business, the Carlyle Group reportedly no longer does business with the bin Laden conglomerate. Yet the Group, among other conflicts of interest, reportedly has a major business relationship with the Saudi Arabian government, which many have criticized for its lack of cooperation in America’s war on terrorism and its financial and other support for terrorist attacks on Israel and U.S. interests.
http://www.judicialwatch.org/1685.shtml

just send back, why do you support a president who does business with those who sponsor hamas and al quaida.

enjoy.

13. Thank you. You were lied to!

Thank you very much for the points and the references.

One point that you bring up, and it can be asked very simply ..

Where are the weapons of mass destruction you were screaming so much about?

Where are the WMD's?

You lied to me, and our troops are being killed because you and George Bush lied.

So now you are all mad because some celebrity is publicly asking why our children are dying based on a lie?

And you say the celebrity asking the question is a bad guy, and at the same time praise the man who lied and got our troops killed?

Hmmmm ...

They sure do throw around the word traitor, don’t they?

While you are lying to get our troops killed, why not go ahead and reveal our secret CIA agents to get them killed too?

Can you say traitor?

Mystic River, the new movie being released this Wednesday is starring Sean Penn and Tim Robbins who have been known to spew hate speech against our current President, assaulting his character for doing what he is attempting to do with the war on terror, to protect Americans from further attack. Which has been very successful so far.

I must have been asleep. I failed to hear Mr. Penn or Mr. Robbins "spew hate speech" against President Bush. What I heard were two Americans expressing their opinions. They have the right to do that in the 1st Amendment. That's the one right before the "right to bear arms," in case you were wondering.

You say Bush's attempts to "protect Americans from further attack" have been successful... "so far." Hmm, sounds like you have some doubt that they will be successful in the future. I'd be careful, if I were you--- today's doubt is tomorrow's "hate speech."

Let us not forget 9/11/2001. I figure I have no way to let the liberals in Hollywood know that they are just actors....and not representative of mainstream America, by myself.

By what authority do you take it upon yourself to "let the liberals in Hollywood know that they are just actors"? And if they are, as you say, "just actors," then what difference does it make to you what they say about anything? And let me ask you, how do you feel about Bruce Willis expressing his political views? Or Arnold Schwarzenegger? Do you not mind their opinions because you agree with them?

No one is forgetting 9/11/2001, least of all the families of those who died on that terrible day, many of whom opposed the war in Iraq. Are they unpatriotic as well? Are they engaging in "hate speech" against President Bush? Perhaps you agree with Bill O'Reilly, who told one of them to just "shut up."

This boycott stuff is outrageous. I don't agree with Charlton Heston's views on gun control, but it hasn't stopped me from watching Ben-Hur or Planet of the Apes. I disagree with John Wayne's uberconservatism, but if The Searchers is on, you can bet I'll watch it. Lucille Ball was once a registered Communist, but I'll bet even you chuckle at "I Love Lucy" every now and then. Why, if it's on, I might even watch Bedtime for Bonzo!

These people, be they conservative or liberal, are actors. They are paid to do a job, and that is to entertain. Let's say your pipes burst, but all the available plumbers are Clinton-loving liberals. I guess you'd just let the basement flood. If you found out your heart surgeon was a liberal, would that stop you from going to see him if you had chest pains? I guess your sense of outrage would be so great that you'd stumble out of the hospital in a rage.

Why not focus your grassroots efforts on something important, like helping the homeless, instead of trying to boycott shadows on a wall?

15. Unless Penn and Robbins worked for a percentage...
...a boycott would only hurt the film's producers, Warner Brothers and Clint Eastwood, who is a Republican.
