When a pundit on tv says why are the liberals saying................

How do they know what the liberals are saying? For instance, I heard Chris on hardball say why are the liberal so hard on Rush. My question is how does anyone know what the liberals are saying if they only get their news from the tv or radio? Where are all these so called liberals making their opinions known? I know but I just wonder what Chris thinks.
