1. LOL
Edited on Fri Oct-24-03 04:56 PM by dymaxia
Yes, I hope so. Maybe Trey himself had something to do with it.

Look at the merchandise they're selling. And they call the French guy a "terrorist".

It's good because it will snare the nimrods who really are for war.

ON EDIT: Check out the "arguments for war". You'll see that one of them is this:

Iraqis Are Accustomed to Death and Destruction
According to some estimates, as many as 1.6 million Iraqis have died as a result of United States sanctions that followed the first Gulf War. Iraqis have been bombed previously, and they remain poor and impoverished. If we multiply the force of our attack now and kill many it won’t make much of a difference and will only be a continuation of our previous policy towards the country.

A sick Iraqi infant. The infant mortality rate has doubled since sanctions were imposed in 1989. Right now a few thousand civilians have died (see below). Relatively speaking, that’s not many, and its only a continuation of our previous policy! Buy merchandise from americansforwar.com to show your support for this war and others.

4. I hope it is a joke
But it is very well done if it is. Even their puchasing and checkout procedures look good and authentic.

The FAQ page made me think it could be a parody, but I am torn.

3. I think the Douglas Feith TERRORIST T-SHIRT is a dead giveaway!
There are plenty of "Bush is a Terrorist" T-Shirts on the market, worn by know-nothing traitors. But as a true patriot, you're showing your support for the government by exposing those in the government who do not act in America's best interest. Expose Douglas Feith for what he truly is - the ant...

5. Okay, now I get it
Damn!
-----------

Some of the arguments on this site seem flippant. Are you sincere?

What constitutes sarcasm is open to interpretation. As a prepared patriots, we should follow what the government advocates. Since the government advocates war, it is logical that we should advocate the same. The question may not be relevant, anyway. Couldn’t the same inquiry be raised about some of the points made during the Pentagon’s press conferences or Tommy Frank’s briefings at Central Command? Ari Fleischer may be sarcastic, or even satirical. Perhaps he’s laughing at us underneath his breath.
Press secretary Ari Fleischer. Is he ever sarcastic? Has anyone ever asked him?

7. That's what gave me some hope
I think the scary thing is that this could very well be a real site, given many people's attitudes. But maybe I spend too much time reading FReeper forums.

He was a masterful deflector. The new guy, McLellan, doesn't hold a candle to Ari's ability to creatively provide verbose and suggestive non-answers.

8. Even the Neocons aren't Neocon enough for 'em
check this out:

http://www.americansforwar.com/targets_02.shtml

Upon cursory examination, it seems that Feith is a patriot like other Pentagon officials. As is the case with many administration figures working in our countries best interest, Feith and his close friends stand to make great personal gain from Iraqi reconstruction. Like a true Patriot, Feith also has no qualms about deluding the American public for the purposes of war. In fact, Feith was behind the creation of a Defense Department division whose sole purpose was to spread lies that would advance American interests. Now the Bush administration is being excoriated for its deceitful claims of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Why won't Feith now lie? It is not difficult to plant chemical or biological weapons. Anthrax has been found in America. Surely some can be sent to Iraq to vindicate our reasons for war. Feith won't help America when it matters most. Is he really with us? Or is this a terrorist that, in the words of our unmatched leader, we have not yet "smoked out" of hiding?

LOL, after making our case for us, they say he's not a "patriot" cuz he won't plant WMDs! LOLOLOLOL

From this, I'd say it was fake, but they're selling survival stuff.

I think they're just trying to show how frightening the worst case scenario is.

And I hope the PNAC thing was a joke.

Also, c'mon people - they're declaring war on SUV drivers.

They are either really, really right wing (which is very possible) or they are trying to be overly radical to be funny.

But I don't know which.

The President and His Cadre Need To Eat

The Carlyle group, of which President Bush and others in the administration are key investors and beneficiaries, is heavily invested in arms manufactures. If the war doesn’t continue, President Bush’s portfolio may decline. As patriotic Americans, we can’t allow this to happen to a man whose leadership is unmatched.

It looks legitimate to me.

Here is an excerpt from the 'Patriotic Merchandise' section:
There are plenty of "Bush is a Terrorist" T-Shirts on the market, worn by know-nothing traitors. But as a true patriot, you're showing your support for the government by drawing attention to the man in the government who does not act in America's best interest. Help expose Douglas Feith for what he truly is - the antithesis of democracy, virtue, and goodness. A terrorist.

29. with writing like this, it must be parody
"Our Secretary of State Colin Powell prepares us for war by breaking the news that Iraq has anthrax and that a vial of anthrax can kill many people during his speech before the UN security council. Is this using fear to galvanize public opinion? Or is he just making us prepared patriots?"

"...a vial of anthrax can kill many people during his speech before the UN..." :argh:

30. LOL, it advocates attacking the lead guitarist from Phish.... hehe
Trey Anastasio, the lead guitarist of Phish, has endorsed movements advocating the prohibition of drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve. This is seemingly benign, but he is supporting terrorism. By preventing oil exploration in Alaska, America’s dependency on foreign oil increases. Most of this money goes to the Middle East, from where terrorism originates. If Anastasio does not support America’s self-sufficency in energy, he certainly is not a patriot, nor he is on our side. Lets apply the Bush doctrine: if he provides support for terrorists, then he is a terrorist.

And are they reputable? And do people really spend $159.95 and buy them based on three paragraphs of description? Hmmm...
