IMPORTANT! Rate This Yahoo! Story Off the Charts!
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ft/20031024/bs_ft/1066565356319

This story pertains to the testimony to Congress of CIA agents today that Cheney and the Bush administration pressured them to make their findings fit the Bushie agenda & the Wilson/Plame leak scandal. This also ran on c-span. This should be the TOP STORY of the day, dammit!

8. I think that's part of the "filter" we've heard so much about
thus the headline-skimmers think all is well. People who actually read learn otherwise

Kudos for the shout-out from Morford! :toast:

11. The CRUCIAL PART of this article...
is this:

"He said that in the run-up to the war with Iraq, the White House had engaged in unprecedented pressure on the CIA and other intelligence agencies to find evidence that Iraq had links to Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) and al-Qaeda and that Mr Hussein's regime was trying to build a nuclear bomb.

While the intelligence agencies believe their mission is to provide accurate analysis to the president to aid policy decisions, in the case of Iraq "we had policies that were already adopted and they were looking for those selective pieces of intelligence that would support the policy", Mr Cannistraro said. "

I f you saw the hearings on C-span, you would see that the veteran CIA agents (who voted FOR BUS) were quite detailed & highly critical of the administration, especailly Cheney for putting pressure on them to spin the intel, and then intimidating them NUMEROUS times before the Plame affair. Point being that the intel was FAKE, not because of CIA failure, but because of Bushie pressure to produce the intel that THE BUSHIES WANTED. Of course, "the filter" had no interest at all in following this HUGE story. Disgusting.

Please keep reccommending it, though...
