Proposals? What to do for Dec. 12, 2003 = Three Years After Selection...
Let's just start with a brainstorm.

The third anniversary is the last before the election.

How to use it to kick off the right campaign? What combined actions can we stage in our various cities (also abroad, where I am?)

-- Bring all the pieces together to show how the 2000 election was indeed won by fraud. Not something to "get over" because:

Continuing relevance, 1: BushCo. was rewarded, look what they've done with it: internal repression, foreign aggressions. Disaster!

Continuing relevance, 2: Crime paid, they have every incentive to steal it again.

-- Which brings us to the main matter: new potentials for voter fraud. BBV. Demand for paper ballots.

Just some notes. Now how can we turn that into concrete, effective actions that put these issues at the center of everyone's campaign?!

What's the point of any other issue, if the last election was stolen and the next one can be stolen even more easily?

I helped put together an international set of events relating to 9/11 that maybe serve as a good model. See www.911truth.org - the site was not updated since Sept. 11 but you can see there the basic idea: combining a bunch of different events across the nation and among Americans abroad to create the effect of an international campaign.

2. Come on...
you're telling me no one here is interested in staging actions to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the Selection, point out that crime paid and that there is a strong chance of renewed fraud in 2004?

3. last shot...
curious. This is about something we all agree on, the very reason for DU's existence. When I start a more flamable thread, it can get hundreds of responses. But this... hmmm....

6. Me?
Want to have a genuine brainstorm here, maybe we come up with something good.

I'm thinking multiple cities, linked by one site and one press release, focusing on

a) three years since the coup - crime paid, and what a disaster we've had since

and

b) election next year - will they do it again? (integrity of voting process, BBV, paper ballot demand)

This needs a title - an overall strategy - and lots of people into it in different places.

Saaaaay...

Why not do this as a real-life DU action? Why shouldn't this be SPONSORED by DU MEMBERS AS A DU ACTION? As far as I know, DU is the only group to have arisen directly because of the Coup.

This absolutely should not focus on ANY candidate, however - but call on all candidates to make electoral integrity into a central issue. It should stick to what we should all be able to agree upon:

1) Commemorating the Florida fraud and the reality that Bush got less votes than Gore

2) Demanding electoral integrity and a paper ballot, even if printed by machine!
