(I can't find the legal eagle forum, so I'm writing this here. Mods, please put in correct forum if one exists better than this one.)

Questions involves power of attorney forms.

(1) Can you assign anybody power of attorney or do they actually have to have a license to practice law?

(2) Is there anywhere on the internet where I can download a power of attorney form that will be acceptable in Florida? This involves a very, very simple matter between siblings. Just want to give my hubby the poa to make selections in an estate distribution of low cost personal items.

1. Answer to question 1

You can assign power of attorney to anyone, doesn't have to be a licensed lawyer. It simply gives the designee the authority to act in your name and on your behalf.

As for #2, I'm not licensed in Florida so I couldn't answer that one. Try googling it.
